It seems to me the discussion revolves around symptom treatment and not finding out the cause which, sadly, is typical of much western medicine. We want the silver bullet, so western medicine gladly obliges us--it's simpler, and more profitable, that way. In my own unprofessional opinion, many 'new' disorders are about nutrition deficiencies thanks to the western diet. For example, studies have repeatedly shown the negatives of bottled water. Funny how RLS increased in the population as bottle water consumption did. Distilled water can strip minerals - particularly magnesium - from your system. Magnesium is needed for your neuro system. Look up magnesium deficiency symptoms - you might be surprised. Have your body tested for nutritional needs, but get it done by an independent source, not those who are interested only in treating your symptoms. Good luck!

come back and report if STOPPING something got rid of your RLS. Lots of people are toxing their livers with 'symptom relief ' and possibly causing more problems, when they could eliminate the problem with behavior change.

I appreciate your thoughts on RLS.
I truly do.
I have had RLS and PLMD my whole life. I am 33 and my symptoms were effecting me way before bottled water.
I have tried everything from sleeping with soap to opiates.
I can not tell you what it feels like to be comfortable even when I was taking vitamins, using leg cream, or taking pain meds.
Pain medicine only eases the unnerving sensations.
Heal thyself sounds absolutely magnificent but it doesn't work when it comes to RLS.
It saddens me to think people see RLS as a joke. What I live with is no joke.

thank you for that information! That makes total sense to me. I started having RLS only after I began drinking Propel Mineral Water by the bottles full, daily. Perhaps, I should check into dolomite, calcium and magnesium tablets! Thanks!

I think RLS is one of those boutique conditions. It's not really a "disease" -- and it's certainly not a life-threatening condition, but some pharmaceautical executive decided to make it seem like one so they can sell more overpriced drugs to people who think they need a pill for everything.
