This is one of the most bizarre questions I've stumbled across... The first thing that came to mind was "WHAT planet are..." and then I remembered I'm a recovered Pentecostal and that perhaps there's some bizarre religious belief behind your question... so
Sexy has 3 definitions: (see link) My first assumption would be meaning 3 since I don't automatically assume the WORST in every scenario. My thoughts don't automatically have a prurient overtone like yours seem to either... Perhaps you should examine WHY such a mild adjectice as "sexy" causes you so much turmoil...
Some other suggestions: Sell your tv, computer, radio. Move somewhere at least 10 miles form the nearest neighbors. Homeschool your children so you can teach them the "right way".
Hope this helps!

No, sexy is not a mild swear word. It is, however, a sexual term that depending on the child's age may not be appropriate for the child's ears.
Disney channel? You probably wouldn't hear it.
Cartoon Network? Possibly. It's evening shows aren't G-rated.
Check the age range at the top of the screen before the show starts. Some shows are '7+', or '12+'.
If your child is middle school age, the likelihood of him/her hearing it in everyday life or seeing it in the books/magazines he/she reads is much higher.
If your child starts spouting the word everywhere, explain to him or her that "beautiful" or "pretty" is a better word.

That question is going to depend on the upbringing of the different people you would ask. I would consider being called "sexy" a great compliment. I don't believe most kids would truly understand the word when they heard it...so I don't believe it would be detrimental for them to hear it on channels that they might watch. This is where parents come in...if THEY don't think their children should be hearing the word or seeing anything else that the word is referring to...then they need to monitor what their children watch. Personally, I don't think the word, in itself, is a "bad" word.

No it is not a swear word. However, I don't feel it belongs in a child's vocabulary. I have a friend who's three year old son says "sesky" (he can't pronounce sexy) and girates his body suggestively and it always gives me the creeps! Talk about lost innocence! His parents think it's one of those cute, funny things kids sometimes do, but I feel it is entirely innapropriate and disturbing and speaks volumes about the type of parenting this child receives.
I wouldn't scold a child for repeating this word, but by not reacting and seeming bored by his saying this word, he will give up saying it on his own. Children typically look for a reaction to their actions, so not encouraging or reinforcing a particular behavior will usually put a stop to it.
If you hear this word on a children's program, I suggest you write a stern letter to the broadcasters telling them how innapropriate that word is for young children. Get the letter signed by all the parents you know. It will have an impact!
Good luck and stay the course!

The definition of "sexy" seems to have been broadened in recent years. For example when someone refers to a flashy car as "sexy", it has nothing to do with sex. It simply means that the car is exciting. No, I don't think it should be considered a swear word in this day and age.

I'd be outraged.
To me, sexy means something or someone that is f*ckable.. maybe i should have said it milder. i don't know. but i'd be outraged if it was said on a kids' channel.
My brother is 6 and knows the word sexy when he hears it, and that's through his friends alone. And my big brother doesnt help much either but thats a different matter

I don't think I'd qualify it as a "mild swear word", but rather as an inappropriate word/subject for a children's channel.
