When you need to read, sure... but in of itself, light is neither good nor bad. You can't assign morality to photons.

Neutrality as far as evidence within the principalities of the universal design and manifestation of realizational existentialism-ulizationals-astastilicitismulationalismsnesses.

My idea is that when we die we become plants. Plants I assume have a non-bound soul existence, like a network hub. The only actual freedom that could exist is in the willingness of the individual to remain a plant.

To not reincarnate is the ultimate evil. And from the krill report: "The ultimate evil is that masked form of psychological complacency that leads one to adhere to a group philosophy rather than eke out one's own horizons."

Let me further say that you purify not your faith in ANYTHING by making yourself so far gone that you copy exactly the opposite of what someone else is "believing". As soon as you acquire knowledge of being a so called "chosen special group" you are on your way to a fall. That is the weakness of any evolving culture and it leaves it vulnerable. To change an atheist, or some kind of "mystical traveller on the path", is impossible. It'll happen, but all in its own good time. It is the very weakness these people sieze upon that is their own inherent downfall. They see not the error of their own ways.

from the comparative religion point of view: Light represents activity, the activity of the eternal silence emerging from itself. NO, I am serious...Fundamentally, all the major religions look at light in this way...the other metaphor for light used by all religions is "correct knowledge". So when Jesus said, I am the light...he meant he was bringing correct knowledge, not that he was bringing photons. Eastern religions see light as the first element to emerge from silence. It is good, because eternal, universal silence is boring...I am serious again, in the Eastern point of view, the universe exists because creative intelligence got tired of the silence. It works like this....creative intelligence (god, allah, whatever) look at itself and knows itself. This creates a dynamism between knower, known, and process of knowing, and all of creation arises out of this dynamism...which is "good" becuase then we get to do stuff like eat ice cream and ponder the "goodness" of light, and other cool stuff like go on Yahoo answers and type to much....

I wouldn't say it's good, or bad.
I guess people will say light is good because it's the creation of something. Light IS something. Whereas darkness, is the absence of light.
So if you think about it enough. If light didn't exist, darkness wouldn't exist.. because darkness is the absence of light... would we just be in a state of nothingness? lol I'm a deep thinker. But seriously people probably say light is "good" because darkness is the absence, and light is the creation.
And if you wanna get "christian" about it...
People say evil is the absence of God. so.. think of it in those terms if you want it to be a christian answer.. my above answer was more of a general logic answer..?

*stealing concept from a show about dragons*

The whole thing about light being "good" comes from the most primordial of human fears. The dark, the night. By first controlling fire, and then electricity, we're conquering our most basic fear.

Thus, the spiritual realization that light is good. And that dark conceals things to harm or frighten us.

Especially to those who are photo-phobic.
But according to scripture that wasn't the case until Adam and Eve ate the fruit.

I tell ya if I ever meet this Adam and Eve in the so called after life I am gonna kick their butts.

I wonder how people with skin cancer caused by the sun view the concept of light being good.

There is a difference between religious light and light itself. The religious light that illuminates the darkness is good because it illuminates the bad and allows us to deal with it. Scientific light causes sunburn. :(

Light's bad if you're trying to sleep, watch something projected or develop film.
