i feed my dog a high quality dog food at this time. i feed him chicken soup for the dog lover's soul but he doesnt like how big the chunks of food r. he refuses to eat it. even if i water it down or mix in a little wet food. he wont eat it because it is too big. he isnt a small dog by any means but he just really likes the smaller chunks of food. so r there any high quality foods that make it in smaller chunks. i feed chicken soup for the dog lover's soul right now and he likes the taste but hates the size of the kibble. so what other high quality food can i feed him. i refuse to feed iams or purina or ol roy or any of that garbage... i hate to say this but the only dry food he will eat is iams mini chunks. but i refuse to feed him that. i started him on that when he was about a year old and before i knew anything about good dog food. so what do u reccomend. i also refuse to feed royal canin. so does canidae or innova have smaller chunks than chicken soup. i just want good food 4 him.

im not really limiting myself that much. i just refuse to buy my dog's food at walmart. i am willing to try innova and canidae and wellness, merrick, solid gold, any thing but i just want a high quality food but i dont want to be buying a different kind of food everytime i buy dog food. and i dont want to waste my hard earned money on something my dog wont eat. i have tried everything to get him to eat it but he refuses. i feed him once in the morning once at night and give him 15 minutes to eat and if he doesnt i put it away. he just wont eat. i dont feel im limiting myself. there r a lot of good quality foods out there. i just want something my dog will eat

the thing i have against royal canin is that it is fairly expensive yet it is still low quality. i have seen a lot of food that is a lot higher quality than royal canin and that i wont use it

I have just switched my dog and cat food to Canidae and Felidae, and already see a difference in their coats. The dog food is in very small pieces; it's like the size of cat food. Doggy loves the food and won't eat the rest of her Iams. My oldest ragdoll is 14 and getting skinny, but after just 3 days, he is getting tubby again on the Felidae. Check out their website, there are lots of nice testimonials.

I'm assuming you are feeding the CS large breed adult??? If so switch to the regular adult..the kibble size is smaller.

If you want to switch foods I would suggest Canidae or Wellness.

I don't blame you for wanting to stick with a good quality kibble and not go with the low quality store brands.

I recommend Wellness, Venision or Duck. My Boxer has done very well on both. The Duck seems to be harder to get right now.

And I might mention, Wellness was one of the FEW that wasn't on the recall list. It's a Great Product. Those that feed premium know you are doing the right thing.

Mine was on Eagle Pack before Wellness, had no issues with that either, however he has a lot of Allergies and eventually the Eagle Pack wasn't helping with those. . .therefore the switch to Wellness.

How active is your dog? I own 2 black labs. and their very active so I have to give them good food but I don't want to pay an arm and a leg. So I go to the feed store and buy Sports Mix. Its little chunks of food. It helps my dogs keep in shape and a shiny coat. It costs me $10 for a 40 lbs.
A friend of mine feeds her German Shepard, Diamond Brand dog food. It costs more than Sports Mix but it still has the same effect on our dogs.

i used to foster dogs and i do have a dog of my own and i've fed all of them Natures Variety. its kibble but they do have wet food you can give or mix in as well. its a very high quality food. I was having problems with my first foster who was on Iams because that was what he was being fed when he came to me. he was always throwing up and pooping constantly. the rescue got a deal with a local pet shop to supply us with Natures Variety..i took my foster off Iams for 24 hours put him on NV and i noticed a difference immediately..no more throwing up, maybe poopped 2 times a day..it was awesome! but they have a few different flavors of food..check out their website

Diamond Naturals Lamb and Rice is a good food, and the kibble is small. My dogs love it,and it has no corn, wheat, soy or by - products. It's reasonably priced, too. But,I feed Chicken Soup, too, and I don't think the kibble is that big.My dogs love it as well. Oh,well, all dogs are different !

We use Chicken & Herb & the Lamb
Read the Taste Tester section and get a better idea of what other people are using. They recommend mixing different blends for more health benefits.

We have a St. Bernard and he is only 200+ lbs....We had to go to a privately own animal shop to get his food...the owner there gave us samples and explained what was in each one. When we got home we took the samples out and layed them in separate piles. We let him decide which one he liked (which ever one he ate)..Trust me our dog eats good he is part of the family so I wouldn't give him less than what I eat.

I haven't seen the size of the Chicken Soup kibble. But Canidae's kibble are smaller in diameter than a dime.

Innova Evo kibbles are about dime size.

Science Diet ould be perfect for your dog, but i know it is not very high quality.... Innova has small bite size pieces you can try. Innova is very high quality and it comes for, small dogs, puppies, and adult formula. It makes it easy to digest. I would reccomend Innova all the way.
