Please don't reply with any answers like "God exists in the mind", or with a question like "Can you prove he doesn't exist?"

I'd like some hard evidence that he exists, and only then would I believe in him.

Any god/deity, it doesn't matter.

Josh, you make me laugh. The world and its people are FAR from perfect.
I suppose you think it's perfect that starving people in Africa and other poor places are dying?

It must be clear that it is not possible to prove God by the usual scientific method. Then again one can't prove Abraham Lincoln either. The reason lies in the nature of history and in the limits of the scientific method. For proof it would have to be repeatable. But the beginning of the universe or the assassination of Lincoln can't be proven because they can't be repeated. But the fact these things can't be repeated doesn't disprove their reality as events.

The complexity of our planet points to a deliberate Designer who not only created our universe, but sustains it today. The human brain's complexity shows a higher intelligence behind it. There is an intelligence to it, the ability to reason, to produce feelings, to dream and plan, to take action, and relate to other people. How does one explain the human brain? "Chance" or "natural causes" are insufficient explanations.

The bottom line, to state with certainty that there is no God, a person has to ignore the passion of an enormously vast number of people who are convinced that there is a God. And the evidence is overwhelming that He does exist!

Have you looked at the Earth, have you seen the mountains? Have you seen the beauty of the rain forest, have you been to the ocean where the water is clear blue and the sand is white and have you seen underneath the water where the fish are colored tropical and the life is amazing, have you watched a baby be born? Have you wrapped your arms around a child and felt the innocent and never ending love and trust that children give so freely? Have you noticed how everything has a time and place and a beginning and an end, how there is balance everywhere you go...some things good, some things not but in all it makes sense that it should be that way...people live and people die but it has to be that way...just like we hunt deer to let others live so does some people have to die so others can remain...everything has a meaning, a purpose and to me....if there wasn't a God...well...I think the definition of what we on Earth call chaos...well it would have new meaning and it would be so much worse than we could ever dream....this proves at least to me...that God exists. When you are on hard times and you think in your head that you wish things would change....who are you talking to??

God is an ideal. Ideals are personal. I can't prove to your my ideal of God,or Gods in my case, just like you can't prove to me why you don't believe in any divine entity, if that's the case.

Lot's of Atheists accuse modern day theists of using a God of the Gaps argument. I find that statement to be ridiculous because the human concept of God is ever changing.

The Ancients saw God as Nature and so do I. I say Nature exists therefore God exists. Are you breathing? The air that you breathe is part of the Gods. You do it without thinking. Why is that? Have you ever wondered how creatures developed involuntary actions such as breathing? Where does instinct come from?? Basically these things to me prove that there was a creator or creators.

This is where the atheists come back with, well there must be a scientific answer. And I'm sure there is. But the point is that Science and Spirituality do not have to be polar opposites.

Also, I've experienced phenomena in my life that alludes to another plane of existance. Call it an afterlife, if you will, I'm not sure that's what it is. I like to say that I agree with Richard Dawkins in thinking that we have a Multiverse. And that those planes can interact.

Could have to do with String theory too. But either way, the fact that I've seen ghosts with numerous other eye witnesses, to me proves that we can't be to quick to judge about divine energy.

This all comes full circle to what you define as God. I define the Gods as Natural forces. Everything is Natural therefore God is everything.

I'm not looking for converts, just to try and explain that questions like this are loaded and can't be explained so easily. The idea that someone could explain the unmeasureable is ridiculous and insulting to the logical theist.

In my looking into to it, I have decided physical evidence can not logically prove or disprove God. As many would define him, God set up physical laws and therefore can not be proven by them. I believe the closest things we can find to proof point to God but dont prove his existence. The strongest in my mind is the universal desire to search for God. If there is no evolutionary benefit, why does the whole world look?

I was always filled w/ seeds of doubt, despite all Religious, scientific, and theories that say there is an afterlife.. I'm telling you, it was like a ton of bricks when it hit me (and I've always regarded Science, and Spirituality equally) It's something no person can prove to you, no matter all the facts they throw at you.. believe me, I have read books on Physists claiming to prove God's existence, to string theory, to religious extremists.. No matter how much info I poured into my brain.. nothing got rid of those "pesky seeds of doubt"
until I asked God honestly to let me in.. I really was not expecting what I got, I really didn't think that anything would ever illeviate my fears of death. i can't tell you how wrong I was.. Good luck :)

Very simple! Nothing comes out of nothing. We exist because of our parents. Our parents exist because of their parents. And go on like this till the point you are left with no answer. This point is God.
And to add further, The earth, the planets, the stars, the mankind, the animals, emotions, relations, feelings, love, jealousy, terrorism, war, destruction, service, good, bad, enemy, friend, laughter, pain business, education, science, air water, vegetation, and so on, and hence infinite numbers of so on’s ……………and what not!! --are all part of the Mother Nature “THE Universe”?

The sum total of all, compressed and focused in to one SINGLE POINT, brings us nearer to the definition of GOD and his existence. Thus understanding and acting as per the laws of the Mother Nature is the only way to go near him and feel that he exists.

Ever since the stone age people have believed in "gods" , and have been trying to prove their belief . Everyone who has tried to prove the existance of "god" has failed . If it hasn't been possible in over a million years , it's very unlikely that proof will ever be found .
Your second question doesn't make sense . Non-existance in unproveable .

O ye of little faith, are you sure your name is not Thomas, we would all like hard evidence, G-D speaks to the spirit ask him, and be sincere and he will answer. Knock and the door will be opened. YOU have to go after him, not the other way around. YOU have to study his word and seek him. Who are you that G-D should have to prove himself to you. If you don't want to believe that is your choice. Unless you accept the kingdom of G-D as a little child you shall not enter the kingdom of heaven. have you noticed how a little child will believe everything you say and trust you, that is what G-D expects you to do, Trust him.

Your question is as old as the ages. But our Creator God doesn't mind. He gave us the stars, the heavens, the earth and all living things. Look at a new born baby and figure out 'what' it is that gives it 'life'. Look at yourself... how very unique you are! With His breath of life - you are here. Without it, you are not. Study history and the life of Jesus Christ. Because He lives..... you live (eternally) if you accept HIm as Savior and Lord. Good luck as you enter into the beautiful world of a God who loves you. You have much to experience.

I can not do that anymore than I can bottle the wind. I know what is truth and how I discern it. It is as much a part of me as I am a part of tomorrow because I am here today. Eternity began before me and exists beyond me yet I am not 'real' to any who do not know me or of me. I believe in you though I have no reason to do so. Your message has reached me as 'God' has willed. I was just about to exit this page when this opportunity to share my ideas was presented to me. I tank you and "God' for it.
