I agree with you, I would not do strapless. I would go with a halter top, because it tends to draw the eye upward, toward your face (and away from your chest).
Here's a few I found, but whatever designer you like should have some halter options:

A halter dress can work, but I would avoid off-the shoulder. You want to select a style that will let you wear a sturdy bra (a strapless bra just won't do the job if you're a C or bigger). Try a short-sleeved or sleeveless style. I wouldn't necessarily recommend a sweetheart or low neckline, either, if you don't want to be falling out of it. Go to a bridal shop and try on a bunch of different styles (even ones that you don't necessarily like on the hangar) and get the input of the professionals there. You'll find the right thing.

I saw a bride wear a strapless and she had a larger chest but the dress was beautiful and so was she, so it really didn't matter. But if you are afraid you're going to feel self-concious about it, a good style would be a halter. But just try on a few styles and whatever makes you feel beautiful, go for it!

My dress was a scoop neck, sleeveless a-line dress and it was fabulous. I thought I would have to have sleeves and a higher neckline, but be open minded when trying on dresses. I was amazed by how nice this style looked on my figure.
I am a 38G and have to tell you - do not scimp on a long line strapless bra! I found one in a specialty bra store for $85, but it was worth every penny! I never had a moments worry that I would fall out, etc or even felt self-concious about my chest. If you don't want a ton of attention drawn to your chest, keep the detailing to a minimum on the bodice.
Have fun shopping!

If you like halter or short sleeves, go for it. But I dont think you have to rule out strapless. If you have a thin waist, you can alter it to fit well at the waist and then the dress wont fall down. Also, there are strapless that are not low-cut so you wont be showing all your cleavage. Spaghetti straps are an option for all strapless dresses. So get out there and start trying them on- you never know what you will like until you see it on yourself!

Being that I am in the same boat as you (or will be soon) I would not recommend a halter. Personally, it gives me a MASSIVE headache from all the pressure and weight on the back of my neck. I'm not far enough to have gone shopping yet, but I am probably going to go the strapless route.

Congratulations! I just got married in July, and I also have a large bust. I wore a strapless dress, but it had built in straps. It was a corset/bustier style top, so it was very comfortable, and I never felt like it was going to fall down. I got it from David's Bridal, style T9104.

As long as the dress is the correct size (and they'll help you with that, after all they're experts!), it should feel very comfortable, especially since wedding dresses tend to be quite heavy! I would suggest going online and finding some styles that you like before going to try them on. It made my fitting a breeze. I had everything from tiara to sandals in 3 hours! Best Wishes!

Hi. Yes, I agree and would not recommend a strapless gown. I know they are the rage, but that's all I see!
Why not go with a halter style. I think that will look good.

I have a big chest as well and had already made up my mind that strapless would never work. But then I tried one on and it was sooooo perfect. When you have on your bustier and the dress fits well, it stays in place....don't worry. My dress didn't move!!! The main point is: don't rule out any one style of dress because you *think* it might look bad on your body type. The lesson I learned was that you never know until you try it on.

One of the things I've always heard is that a halter is best for a smaller chest.
Now whether that means it's also good for a larger chest, I don't know. Sorry to throw a monkey wrench into the discussion.
This might help a bit:
