seriously, shouldn't you be at church, temple, or the synagogue right now giving praise, in stead of arguing with atheists and believers of other faiths who disagree with you?

Is that the best you could come up with? Well FYI, in the US alone there are four different time zones, so not all religious people are going to be at church/synagogue at the same time. And I already went to church. Have a nice day.

The Internet is world-wide, so some Christians live in different time zones and go to church at different times. I am in the Central Daylight Savings Time Zone in the United States, and I went to church at 8:00 this morning, my time, and was home by 9:30 my time. This allows me to be on here. Unless I am mistaken those in temples and synagogues worship somewhere between sun down on Friday and Saturday evening at sun down-- their Sabbath.

As to why we would even be on a Religion and Spirituality site, questions are asked on the site, sometimes sarcastically, and other times with genuine curiosity. People of every belief system answer the questions according to their belief system. If their belief system contains no God, then they say so. If their belief system contains a God, but it is not the God of the Bible, they say so. I'm just doing the same -- my belief system contains the God of the Bible.

There is no place to worship but the human heart... No, not the physical one. The best way to do that is to gain knowledge, and share knowledge of what is eternal, and not destroyed IMO, with an intent of well being. Without a intent for the blessing of the recipient, all is useless speech.

Consider whether this would cause one think as such fairly.

"That the heart is the throne, in which the Revelation of God the All-Merciful is centered, is attested by the holy utterances which We have formerly revealed.

Among them is this saying: "Earth and heaven cannot contain Me; what can alone contain Me is the heart of him that believeth in Me, and is faithful to My Cause." How often hath the human heart, which is the recipient of the light of God and the seat of the revelation of the All-Merciful, erred from Him Who is the Source of that light and the Well Spring of that revelation. It is the waywardness of the heart that removeth it far from God, and condemneth it to remoteness from Him. Those hearts, however, that are aware of His Presence, are close to Him, and are to be regarded as having drawn nigh unto His throne.

Consider, moreover, how frequently doth man become forgetful of his own self, whilst God remaineth, through His all-encompassing knowledge, aware of His creature, and continueth to shed upon him the manifest radiance of His glory. It is evident, therefore, that, in such circumstances, He is closer to him than his own self. He will, indeed, so remain for ever, for, whereas the one true God knoweth all things, perceiveth all things, and comprehendeth all things, mortal man is prone to err, and is ignorant of the mysteries that lie enfolded within him...."

The Sabbath ended yesterday at Sunset, so Jews have every excuse for being here.

While I believe in God, I'm not an adherant of any religion that requires regular worship. I opted not to attend services at the Unitarian Church this morning so I could fix something I broke, instead.

Yesterday was my rest day - I went to the circus.

"Shouldn't" you not assume the role of policing other people's behavior. Maybe some of have fulfilled our religious obligation for the day and simply didn't bother to check in with you. Your question is an obvious attempt to shame others into a code of behavior which -evidenced by your own post-you aren't following yourself. Perhaps you missed the beam in your own eye the last time you looked in the mirror.

As a Christian I am the Church, for His Holy Spirit lives inside me 24 hours a day and besides that I am in the Philippines so It is 12:52 AM here a few more minutes and it will be Monday.

So even though our service is over, the work of the Lord Never stops.

I can’t speak much about the Jewish people concerning this subject, since proselytizing isn’t an intrinsic part of their faith. However, for the Christian and Muslim, sharing information about their faith is just as imperative to their spiritual lives as regular attendance at a church or a mosque. It is not enough for these followers to believe as they believe, but it is paramount, according to the edicts of their holy books and religious figures, to make sure that others believe as they do.

Something about this need to impose their belief on others strikes me as odd. In other disciplines, where the discernment of truth is central - such as in science, math, or history - one does not see the need to repeatedly and regularly badger non-subscribers to ones beliefs. Either one has good reasons to believe in something in these fields, or one doesn’t. If you have cogent reasons to believe in a particular scientific theory, mathematical concept, or historical fact, then people will naturally subscribe to the same things that you do without the need of verbally coercing them and using fear tactics that entail the threat of eternal perdition.

To me, the need to constantly bother nonbelievers with their belief system, is a strong indication that the reasons to believe in their particular religion are specious. Moreover, it might underscore their own insecurity in their own religion, for what but an insecure individual would constantly require more and more people to adhere to the same thing that they do, in order to feel happy?

I do attend church regularly, and I sing in the choir every Sunday. So really since you did not put a time limit on your question, and since this is a Global service, where some parts of the world have different "Time Zones". (ever hear o those? *jokes* )

So ya.. whatever..

I would love to be at church, but I have to work today. I really enjoy this site, it gives me laughter and encouragement. I like bonding with other Christians and gives me a chance to prayer for those that ask for it. It does not matter if anyone really agrees with me or not, it is a fun place to be.
