Most people will respond with places in the price range of $200 as being cheap. I don't find that cheap! If you want a nice clean hotel for less than $100 go across to Seacaucus,NJ there are several nice hotels there such as Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn, Days Inn etc all for under $100. the best part is there is a express bus operated by NJ Transit that goes directly from the hotel district to the Port Authority Terminal (Times Square) for about $2 Good Luck!

Cheapest hotel near Times Square is the Hotel Pennsylvania on 34th Street, across the street from Madison Square Garden.

Hands down. Holiday inn express madison square garden. I am a New Yorker, and when my sister got married last year we needed extra room for out of towners.They were very nice well furnished rooms with a great price. time square is an easy stroll away, penn station is also very close, and of course Madison square Garden is right there as well. In hind sight ask if they have any special rates for the dates you are going, we could have saved even more had we known. Have fun, enjoy NY!

The westin hotel. Not sure if its cheap but its a lovely hotel, the staff are very nice and its right in times square!

There are quite a few places in the 150-200 a night range. I've used orbitz and hotwire successfully.

Cute funky and hip.
Wonderful location:)
Quite inexpensive for NY:)
I stayed there in Aug. Loved it.
