Not everyone can it done. Have a look under your tongue if there is one main vain that runs down the middle of your tounge than you can't get it down. But if you have two then get it done. Some places you can pay to get it numbed but it will cost and these places are far and few between.
Just remember that it isn't the day you get it done that hurts or while it's being done it's the next day for about 3 days. Justlisten carfully to their advise and try not to eat soilds before you are really ready to.
Hope all goes well.

It's fast and that needle is sharp! The most uncomfortable part is the clamp. I wondered what I was thinking of as I sat with a needle through my (not numbed at all) tongue.
The first week I ate a lot of soup and no kissing but after that it healed quickly and without problems.
That was ten years ago and I still have it. You can get PTFE jewellery which is more flexible and once the piercing has healed you can use acrylic balls which all makes things a bit more comfy if you find you bite it. As the swelling goes down you can get the length of the bar reduced and it feels better straight away. The pain is fleeting and if you find you really like it the piercing's there for life. I love mine.

When I had mine done, about 14 yrs ago, it didn't really "hurt" per-say, it was a different sensation, like tattoos. A lot will depend on the piercer. Be sure to go to a professional, some one that has been doing piercing for a while. If they do it correctly, there will not be much discomfort at all. The healing process was painless as well. I little inconvenient due to the swelling, but after about 3-4 days, I was back to normal.

No it doesn't really hurt at the time. I'm that nervous when i get pierced that I think adrenaline takes over. It did hurt afterwards though and my tongue was so swollen I ate hardly anything for 3 days. So if you do get it done make sure you have a good meal before you do! :)
I had to have mine pierced 3 times too because it went a bit wrong the first 2 times. That was 8 years ago,I love it and I'm never taking it out!
Also I've chipped a few of my teeth so wear a ptfe(plastic bar) after it's healed to stop yours getting chipped x

no matter what anyone tries to tell you.. yes it will hurt. not terribly. on a scale of 1-10 where 1 is a thump on the ear and 10 is being in labor.. its probably about a 3 or 4 when it gets done and it remains sore for about 2 weeks. if you dont care for it it could hurt as bad as a 7 or 8. but after that.. its not bad at all. the worst part is the first couple of days afterward. take care of it with listerine and whatever your piercer reccommends..and you'll be fine.

It didn't bother me, i recommend having a slushy before you get it done, afterwards just take ibuprofen and eat foods that are easy to chew so that you don't chomp down on the ring which can can in the way. I had swelling for three days then on the fourth it just went away. I really recommend ice chips and honey, it tastes good and makes your tongue feel better.

The process of getting my tongue pierced didn't hurt. For 2-3 days afterwards my tongue was really swollen and felt like it was bruised, which was the most painful part. It wasn't a sharp pain, just a dull, constant pain for 48 hours or so.

i don't comprehend my sister merely had one she mentioned it did not harm in any respect in spite of the shown fact that it additionally relies upon on the place you have become it pierced. the undesirable section is which you would be able to not et something with no need to sleek mouthwash after (she says that doesn't harm the two) so plan what you would be eating (no starch or yeast , i think of) And in case you drink chilly water or merely ice the swelling is going down faster, and additionally you have a small speaking undertaking (oppth i'm so sorry) yet not a huge one and it does not final too long yet distinctive human beings have distinctive consequences i think.

Getting it done doesn't it's over in a minute but bout half an hour later it swell's and hurts like hell...for about 2/3 days...but if you really want it you'll get over it...take some solpadein before hand...
And make you sure you go somewhere you know and thats it clean...very tricky thing to get pierced...

Honestly, It doesn't hurt. I promise!!! All of your nerves are around the outside of you tongue (This is why when you accidentally bite down on you tongue the edge hurts the worst.). I had mines done about 6 years ago, only problem I had was that my tongue got a little swollen. That's because i have no clue how to shut up. Good Luck, its a lot of fun!
