Don't panic, going to church is important, but with good reason you can be excused. Just try to do the best you can to make it on time. If you are having problems getting there on Sundays try to make it on Saturday.
You had pretty good excuses and I've been there myself on more then one occasion, I was told to go to confession, try to read the mass or catch on tv and remember that God's love is immeasurable and there's nothing you can do to make him love you any more or any less.
Just move forward, go to confession and try to pray the spiritual communion any time you can't receive it. Try to do your best to make it next week, be a good catholic everyday to the best of your ability and You'll be fine.

You're fine. You read the Mass....hopefully in the spirit if Spiritual Communion with the rest of the Church. Go to Confession as soon as you can, and get to Church next Sunday.
Failing to keep your "Rule of Life" is not necessarily a sin - it's considered a "fault" - but - if it gets to be habitual (like missing Mass every week) - then - you need to look at your Rule.

Just go to confession and you will be forgiven. Going to Sunday Mass is mandatory (third commandment) although there could be extenuating circumstances like illness (only if you're the one who's ill). Even if you are bed-ridden you can attend mass on tv but only if it is physically impossible for you to go to church. God is a loving god and seldom gets angry. Missing church will not incur His wrath. Just don't make a habit of it. When your children are grown and out of your house, wouldn't it make you happy if they voluntarily visit you once a week, not because they have to but because they want to? It's the same with God. The only unforgivable sin is the unwillingess to admit that we are sinners and refusal to ask for forgiveness.

As Catholics we are obliged under the canon law of the church to attend Sunday Mass, exceptions are if you are injured or sick and unable phsyically to attend, now we all know when we are faking it and making excuses that are really just that, are not acceptable, so it is with trust that the church leaves us to use our common sense.
You had genuine sickness at home and in this case the church would expect you to fulfill your Christian duty of charity and care for the sick, as for sleeping in it was not intentional I think, but if it was possible to attend a later Mass and you just couldn`t be bothered then this was neglect and you need to mention this in confession.

If you have a good reason, then its not a sin. If you don't, then it is. Here is a quote from the "official" Catechism (pay attention to 2181):
CCC 2180 - The precept of the Church specifies the law of the Lord more precisely: "On Sundays and other holy days of obligation the faithful are bound to participate in the Mass." "The precept of participating in the Mass is satisfied by assistance at a Mass which is celebrated anywhere in a Catholic rite either on the holy day or on the evening of the preceding day."
CCC 2181 - The Sunday Eucharist is the foundation and confirmation of all Christian practice. For this reason the faithful are obliged to participate in the Eucharist on days of obligation, unless excused for a serious reason (for example, illness, the care of infants) or dispensed by their own pastor. Those who deliberately fail in this obligation commit a grave sin.
CCC 2182 - Participation in the communal celebration of the Sunday Eucharist is a testimony of belonging and of being faithful to Christ and to his Church. The faithful give witness by this to their communion in faith and charity. Together they testify to God's holiness and their hope of salvation. They strengthen one another under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
CCC 2183 - "If because of lack of a sacred minister or for other grave cause participation in the celebration of the Eucharist is impossible, it is specially recommended that the faithful take part in the Liturgy of the Word if it is celebrated in the parish church or in another sacred place according to the prescriptions of the diocesan bishop, or engage in prayer for an appropriate amount of time personally or in a family or, as occasion offers, in groups of families."

I, too, missed church today. sure i feel bad, but God does forgive us. confess your sins and you'll be forgiven. say your prayers and you'll be forgiven. you can still enter the kingdom of heaven if you've missed church a couple times. just be a good christian, make church when you're able to, pray and spread the word of God, and you'll be okay

relies upon on the type you look at it. Did you permit out acquaintances or kin that have been there? Or did you permit out the standard "seen ya on the bar final nighttime we gotta put in a seen attraction so the different a million/2 wont be mad at me for staying out late and getting inebriated" ? ( they seem to think of we would desire to repent for our sins) or did you easily pass over the observe of god? My mom ignored a lot of my fathers church sermons (with the aid of ailment) She stated if I have been given a bible and that i will p.c.. it up and consider some passages that are faithfully up lifting then I havent ignored plenty for I nevertheless have the observe of god. A construction, human beings dressed up of their Sunday ultimate dont provide me my faith is jesus christ the bible does. So desire that helps you forgive your self for being a sleepyhead =)

the difference is -- you tried..... you didn't go to a ball game or the zoo or just say - i'm going to wash the car instead. as long as you offer the day to God in some other way - caring for your child, speniding some quiet time in prayer is okay!

Oh my goodness! You are being weighed down by the rules, rituals and regulations of man made religion. There is freedom in Christ. Going to church does not a Christian make. Believing in the lord Jesus Christ, accepting him as your savior, living by his teachings and commandments of love God with your whole being and love others makes you a Christian. Not going to church. Also, you don't NEED the priest for confession. That is why Jesus came to earth to die for us so we could have intimate direct communication with God through Jesus Christ. Confess your sins to God while you sit on your couch. It is the same thing. I am a born again Christian and didn't attend church all summer because we were so buisy. I did not for one second feel guilty or unforgiven for not attending church. I hope you can break free from your religious shakles and enter into your freedom in Christ. My dear, you are forgiven through Jesus Christ. You didn't do a bad thing in the first place.
