It means you are just above the middle of the pack of those that take the test. You are probably a little below the average of those who join the Navy. If you are going to join the Navy it is best to think of youself as a sailor and not as an African American. You don't want "pretty good for a black guy" to be your personal standard of excellence. Don't ask for or expect special treatment due to your race. Show that you are just as good as any other sailor and deserve to be treated equally. Your recruiter is probably trying to rush you in. If you take the test again you will probably get a higher score and that will improve your range of job choices.

I am going to try to answer this without sounding racist at all which i am not. But i believe that all marine booters are and have been hazed. I just think that the African American booters that are hazed by white marines speak up about it because they think it is or try to make it a racial statement.

Hazing occurs to all "FNGs" no matter their race. It occurred in all branches of the military. Hazing is officially not allowed, but I would bet it still continues in some ways. It used to be worse: there are no more "BT punches" in the Navy.

maybe because a lot of recruits think they are back in the hood with they speak to the drill instructor by saying dawg, homie, wuzzap, aight, this is bullshit...and so on. Also get yelled at during rifle qual with they shoot their m16 like if they where in a drive by

All recruits, no matter what race, are "hazed" in boot camp. That is the purpose of boot camp.
