I suffer from migraines. I don't get them often but since our air conditioning went out I have noticed more headaches. Yesterday as the day heated up my headache became worse. I have prescription Imitrex and took one but it didn't help (that was a first) As the day cooled my headache lessened. At the end of the day it was completely gone. At times I would get cold chills and my head would absolutely pound. Could my headache be heat related?

Actually I too have had the same problem. this spring our central air went out. We suffered for almost two weeks before the air was replaced. You know what its like when you are used to cold weather and it finally warms up? It's feels twice as hot.
I had the worst headaches. We ran fans and borrowed a window air condtioner. I wasn't responding to med's as I had in the past. It was horrible. I had relief at night and at work as we have air there but at home on the weekends was torture. Hopefully you get your air fixed or cooler weather meets you soon. If not, drink plenty of water, keep a cool rag on your head and if you can just get out of the house. Take a trip to visit someone, go to the mall, anything to keep you out of the heat. It may be a good idea to take your meds before it gets too hot. That may help as well
Take care, hope you feel better.

absolutely, heat causes many health problems. because your air conditioning is not working, it's important you place an ice pack on the back of your neck for fifteen minutes, several times a day. This will keep you from having the headaches and also will help relieve them.

Dehydration can cause Headaches . I recommend you drink purified water mixed with mineral water 50/50. This will replace the minerals that are exiting your body continuously.

I suggest that adults and children drink 40 ounces of water per 100 pounds of body weight every day. Realize that exercise, ambient temperature, and state of health affect the water needs of your body.
