I got a tattoo done a couple of months ago (22nd July to be exact) and I noticed that it was a little smudged when it was finished, but seen it was my fist tattoo, I thought it was normal and would go away. But it hasn't. It's not smudged a lot and not tottally obvious, but there's faint blackness around the tattoo. Is this normal? Will it go away with time?

I have a black tattoo and mine has a faded edge on it too. It's very faint...I think the colour just bleeds a little. My coloured ones didn't, it must just be the black. My sister in law did mine and does her own, and hers are like that too....I am pretty sure that it's normal. I guess it also depends on how much yours has done it...mine is so faint, you have to be right up close to even see it, and it just looks like a pale blue/purple colour, like the edge bled out under the skin. If you are concerned, you should ask the tattoo artist that did it for you, they can let you know whats up.

so much depends on the artist. a good artist will not smudge your tattoo. I have a full back, black tattoo and absolutely no smudging. I don't pay them the big bucks for smudges.
Are you sure its not meant to be shading. If you are unhappy, let the artist know. And next time, choose a different artist.

the ink will only stay where the needle went. so it may take forever because of the strong ink. but it will fade
