I believe that it is important to go to church because you like to and because you want to. You need a church that feels like home. One where others believe the same as you. I go to a non denominational church. We don't do the religion thing. We are a new testament church that goes by the teachings of Christ and his commandments. A Christian should want to go to church because of reverence for God, fellowship with others who believe the same way you do and to learn and grow in the teachings of Christ.

Religious people should want to go to their churches for the same reasons stated above.

People that go to church just because they feel like they have to shouldn't bother. Just going to church isn't going to get you anywhere. It's how you act and live during the week that shows your true colors -- not just church "attendence" on Saturday or Sunday.

Yes.

But then, I think it's important to go to a lot of *different* churches. If you're going to make a decision regarding religion, I feel it best to be as informed as possible not only of the religion, but of the history of the religion so that you know not only where the religion is now, but where it has been.

Yes I do. Church is not a requirement, however ... It certainly is easier to be and live like a christian when you go to the church to serve. So often I hear people say they believe in God but don’t see a need for church. Most times I quote:

1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

That is an interesting passage to me because the body of Christ gathered corporately is challenging. It’s uplifting as well. I love to worship with the church. I love to make someone’s day by praying for them or just listening and being compassionate. I love hearing testimonies of God’s faithfulness. I love giving to further the gospel. I love the word of God. I love that people at church care about me and will stand by me when I mess up.

Yes it is important for my family to go to church. My husband also facilitates the Sunday bible class. We are all involved in the church. We have the Lord in our lives.

As Buddhist who has the option, I would say "no." Community is important but one can have community with their neighbors.

As long as you practice good behaviour, in general, let life be your church. One can meditate or pray on their own.

Mom once told me that god does not care if you go to church or not. But you should believe in him if you want to go to heaven. I go to church sometimes to help me better understand the world and heaven and things like that but I think that God understands it if you don't go to church.

The body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit. The Kingdom of Heaven is within. When you pray, retreat to your secret closet. Pray not so that other men may see you.

Maybe for some people. Everyone is an individual, and has needs different than everyone else.
