Strength training can be your cardio. There is a mis-conception that weight training is just for building and toning muscles-and it does. But one of the muscles that it helps to strengthen is the-and that is what cardio is about.

Most strength training is performed is free weights but if you have access to a gym you will have both free weights and machines to help.

In strength training you want to work your major muscles as in legs, mid-section, shoulder and arms. Using small hand weights you can get toned and burn calories and if you use larger weights you can build muscle. Now building muscle doesn't mean that you will grow huge muscles unless that is what you want. But to get the most "cardio" the weights or resistance are fairly light and you do many repetitions.

There is a lot of free information around that can give you some ideas of what to do. For instance at the site below look at the "fitness calculators" section and go to the link "Video Exercise Instructions & Demonstrations" there you will see many examples.

There is also a section "Free Training & Nutrition Insider Secrets e-book ". Again it's a free resource that can get you going. There are also a few videos that you can watch. Yes- this is all free.

Once you get a beginning then you can begin to build upon it and go in the direction that is best for you.

When it comes to losing weight, no one wants to hear the real answer. We all look for short cuts. Millions are made because we are so evasive in our approach.

You sound like you know enough about exercises. Here is the secret: you must train yourself to know that a little hunger is a good thing. Learn not to react at the fist sign of hunger with eating. (Do not go to the extent of being bulimic.) Eat healthy and in limited amounts.

It is that simple.
