Recently I've been dating this guy who is a towering 6'3'', whereas I am 5'3''. Hugging him is so awkward because clearly he is much, much taller than me. My head reaches his chest so tiptoe-ing past his shoulder is impossible.
How can I position myself so that the hug won't be so awkward.

Hug him more around his waist and his arms more around your shoulders- it seems reverse of how it usually goes but it works better with the height difference. Or if you want, stand close to him and let him wrap his arms around your torso while you rest your arms on his shoulders and your hands on the back of his head and neck for a more intimate 'hug'. Standing on tip toes for a quick kiss work well.

Lol well one of my friends is a football player and he is Very VERY tall... lol I know one thing for sure to, I will never be as tall as him seeing as I am barley 5 ft. and a junior in HS. Lol When he gives me a hug, i first tiptoe and then he laughs at me and he lifts me up and gives me a giant bear hug! lol either that or he bends over to give me a hug. Either way works! =D lol this is what usually happens to me when tall guys give me a hug! hehe

i dont see the problem.
if you like him, your comfortable with touching him, just bury your head in his chest and enjoy the feeling of such a bigger guy. if your not that comfortable with him, then you really cant hug him. you can do one of those fake hugs, where most of you dont touch him.
if you not into that feeling of him be overpowering, being able to control you, then get a shorter guy, because this is only get worse. think about sex. your head wont be near his head then either. you will feel overpowered and helpless whether you like it or not.
i have never met a "woman a foot shorter couple" where the woman did not get off on the guy being able to do anything he wanted to her, her not being able to resist. if your not into that, move on.

That is about what I am and my hubby is just about that tall. I wrap my arms around his waist...it works well.
