No - he has forgotten it by the time you see it and has no idea what you want. He will just learn to hide from you when he does it.
If you do catch him AT IT, pick him up and get him outside, then praise him for doing it there.
Inside, clean it up, neutralize the area - not just clean up, neutralize the smell so he doesn't use that as his potty place.
The key is to take him out to the same place and praise, praise, praise when he gets it right - that works eventually, some dogs get it sooner than others.

No, not unless you absolutely catch him in the act. Otherwise, he'll basically think you're insane. You walk in the room and start scolding him. He has no idea what it's about. How would you react if someone walked into your room and started yelling at you in an angry voice, and you had no idea why? That will teach him to be aftraid of you. And even if you catch him in the act, whatever you do, don't rub his nose in it. Tell him no, scoop him up, take him outside and praise him when he does his thing in the yard. Use the same place every time, the scent of the urine and feces becomes a marker for where to go. Clean up the spot in the house, and as as previous poster suggested, get one of the odor neutralizing sprays. Don't use ammonia, because that's one of the chemical in urine. Dogs go by scent as much as anything else, so you have to elinimate the order not just cover it up.

Alot of people say you should, but unless you show him that outside is good and he understands that then scolding him won't do any good. It's not doing to teach him to go outside. Scolding a puppy for littering will most likely just make him think you hate him defcating and he'll try to do it behind sofas, under beds ect. A dog should ONLY be scolded for behaviour he KNOWS is wrong, not for something he's just being trained for.

you shouldn't scold him. He won't know what he's being scolded for. If you rub his nose in it, that will only make the situation worse, and your dog will be scared. If you catch him DIRECTLY in the act, try to distract him by either using a "NO" or calling him,or just throw a toy. When he stops, put his leash on and bring him outside to use the bathroom. When you bring him back in, use the oder exterminator so the smell doesn't stay. If you leave the smell there, The dog is likely to use the bathroom there again, believe me, it's happened to me A LOT. Hope this helps and good luck with your dog!

No, you need to interrupt him by saying "NO" in a loud voice. Then take him outside to finish up. Give him lots of praise for going outside.
To help with the house-breaking, consider putting him in a crate if you can't watch him. If you are going to play with him, attach his leash to your belt so he can't wander off from you. Then keep an eye on him and if he starts sniffing around, etc, take him outside to see if he has to go potty. Also try to take him out every hour or so and remember to praise him a lot for going outside. Also take him out after he wakes up from naps and after he's eaten.
And don't punish him if you don't see him go, but find pee or poop. This does nothing because his memory is so short he doesn't associate going to the bathroom inside with mom being upset. He just knows that mom is upset about poop and pee, and could eventually start sneaking off to some room to go instead of making the connection that he needs to go outside.

As soon as you see him start to do it, get him as fast as you can as take him outside, if you SEE him pee or poo inside then you should show it to him and then scold him. If you don't actually see him then dont, becuase if he didnt just do it, he won't know why he is in trouble.

If you saw him do it give him a stern NO but NEVER hit him you dont want him scared of you. take his poop and bring it out side.
then make him watch you clean it up. if you dont see him do it then bring him over to the poop and scold him. if he throws up get mad tell him no the make him watch you clean it up. then play with him so he knows you dont hate him.

If you catch him in the act you should scold him immediately, rub his face right near it (so he knows what he's being punished for) and then take him out back on the grass.

if he knows what "NO!" means when you say it fercely right after he as done it then he will get the hang of it and if he/she is a puppy then you should pouty train him/her.
Think about it.
Hope this helps!

yes bring him to the pile, put his nose near it, say NO firmly, then put him in time-out, meaning in his kennel or an enclosed area for about 5 or so minutes. be mad but not mean to him.
