Some patients who are started on a medicine that's known to cause weight gain don't gain any weight at all. Everyone's metabolism is different, and what happens to one patient may be completely different than the outcome for another person--even a family member--who is taking the same dosage of the drug.

That one has a rep. From the begining, put yourself on a slight diet with a rule NO eating after dinner. Often AD weight gain has to do with munchie attacks and changed eating habits, not actual changed metabolism. Also, step up the exercise a bit from the beginning. If you aren't someone who's metabolism is messed with, it is possible to not gain weight or to even loose weight. It just might take a little more will power.

Btw, I second the suggestion that you check out http://www.crazymeds.org . It's the best site I've found for info on psych meds.
