Advil is a pain killer. It will ease your throat pain but nothing else.

Hi- Try this site
pdrhealth.com- alphabetized list of over the counter and prescription medications
www.advil.com
webmd.com
www.sinusdrainageremedies.com
www.sorethroatremedies.com

You didn't mention a duration- It sounds as if you may have a viral infection or sinus infection- If you are running a temperature, I would suggest you go see a Physician, as you may need to be on antibiotics if you have a bacterial infection
In the meantime, consider taking an over the counter medication that will work for sore throat and mucus issues, such as advil cold/flu tablets. There are lozenges available for sore throats. In addition, try to stay hydrated. Popcycles, ice cream, and ice chips are excellent for easing the symptoms of a sore throat, and in addition, gets fluids in ur system. Hope this helped. Good luck and take care!

Advil is NSAID (Non Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drug) It reduces swelling. With the reduction of the swelling, comes a reduction in the pain, in that things aren't pushing on other things.

It sounds like you have some sinus or allergy problems if this is a long-standing problem. Try and OTC decongestant, and see if this resolves the issue. You may wish to take an antihistamine to reduce the amount of mucus that you are producing.

You may have allergies which plug your nose and cause you to sleep with your mouth open to breathe. that would explain the mucus and the sore throat from breathing with your mouth open.I use Alavert for allergies.

The sensible thing to do, is make an appointment to see a physician. See if you can be worked in tomorrow in the A.M. or if you don't have a personal doctor go to the nearest EMERGENCY ROOM NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why waste your time asking us? We can't treat you or write the appropriate prescriptions for you. DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
