What I do is get a baggie and add the chops. Then add some olive oil, lemon juice, garlic( fresh preferred), basil, pepper, and some salt. I let that marinate for at least 2 hours like that in the fridge, overnight if possible. Then cook normally.

You can go as simple as some fresh ground black pepper and garlic powder or like this recipe I use on Leg of Lamb:

Basil
Terragon
salt
pepper
marjoram

Place a little of each in a custard cup. Mix well. Rub it into your lamb - all over it. Bake in the oven.
