Does anyone know what the painter Paul Rubens was best known for?

Rubens was best known for his fleshy, full-figured (by todays standards) women. He was also known as a 'diplomatic' painter who was commissioned by royalty from across Europe. Look at the Whitehall ceiling in England, the Maria de'Medici (mother of Louis XIII of France) series, for example. Finally, he is well known for his workshop where many works were 'assembled' by various students and aspiring masters...while Rubens designed every painting unless it was a high profile commission he rarely executed them himself.

Whether you call him an artist or not is subjective but Paul Reubens was the guy who played Pee Wee Herman.
