I cannot believe that anyone would think using contraceptives is a sin.

Birth control is not a sin, it was made up by Catholics to keep the population down.
Large Catholic families were well known in the past and something had to be done, but the priests said to `whip it in, whip it out, and wipe it,` was a sin.
But that was only their opinion, not the opinion of any god, because `gods` do not, and cannot exist. And they themselves had to take a vow of celibacy anyway, which led to some of them being charged with being paedophiles and homo-sexuals. I said `some,` not all.
When you get married use condoms or the pill or any other means available.
All other religions ignore the teaching of the Catholics because there are other ways.
One particular tribe in Africa ordered that young men could not marry young women, only older women who could not conceive. That solved the problem for them. Just one example. I`m sure there must be others.

Are you Catholic? Check out "Ladycomp" do an Internet search on it. It is a Vatican approved form of birth control
Not all religions have the same restrictions, many have no issue with any form of birth control.
EDIT: to Zwick, that is not true about the pope insisting on lots and lots of baby's you can use natural family planning and Ladycomp makes it very very accurate.

the female body has a natural rhythm, do a little research on biology.
Really, there are just times when the chances are just pretty darn high of pregnancy.
its called the rhythm method.

Those who are against BC are also against pre-martial sex. SO ....just say no or decide to use birth control. remember, condoms are needed to prevent transmission of STDs (sexually transmitted disease i.e HIV)

The answer that fundamentalist will use is abstinence. You must defy your biological and emotional urges and not have sex. I think this is futile.

if your familys religious they probably will want you to wait until you are married and can handle having a baby.
since when was it a sin? if you had a baby and neglected it, then it would be a sin! its responsible to use condoms and the pill if you are not ready or dont want a baby. i can understand if you thought abortions were sinful! i dont understand this at all, are you american? coz that would explain it

It's just a cynical way that the Church hope to get more followers, and it matters little to them if you catch something or have a miserable life because of it.

Line up your will with God's, and abstain. You do not have the power in the natural, but God is sufficient for controlling all desires in the flesh. All sex is a choice and you do not have to do it.
