I love my hamster and I often want to give him a treat, but he doesn't like strawberries and celery like most hamsters. I buy the special hamster treats but sometimes I don't have them, what else do you think I can give him?

My hammy's LOVED milk bone dogtreats! I also gave them cheerio's, unsalted crackers, carrot's, dandilion leaves and flowers, hay(timothy &alfalfa), bread crusts, meal worms(ifyou don't like feeding them live you can get them freeze dried), dogfood, cat food and dry pasta.

A lot of that is stuff you would have around the house anyway. My hamster's favorite treats are Cheerios, sunflower seeds and Milk Bones dog biscuits. Or anything sweet, but I really try to limit the sugar in her diet and go for healthier things.

I would give dried fruits and occasional nuts (slivers and unsalted please)as treats because it wasnt messy and they acted so excited to hoard them and bring them out one by one to savor and munch.
Dried apples and nectarines dissapeared first, and they look so cute holding the half of a natural dried peanut. Be careful about the nuts because it may give the hamster the runs.
Take a couple of frozen peas and offer it to him slightly thawed. I havent met a hamster who doesnt like those. Dont give too much because they are hoarders. The fresh peas will develop molds if they try and store it for another day.
PS. Choose a good quality type of peas. I like the green giant type.

Try giving him some apples...or look on the back of your hamster treat pack and see if you can figure out which veg. or fruit he seems to like in the ingredients section.

Most fruit and veg including carrot, cucumber and grapes. Also dog biscuits and crackers. Don't ever feed your hamster chocolate, crisps or anythong like that.

My dwarf and golden hamsters really like bread, a little dollop of peanut butter, and they like to lick an ice cube made out of orange juice! Also my dwarf hammies really like a bottle cap full of milk. Just dump out the milkthey didn't drink when they are done! :D

DO NOT let your hamster see another hamster they are solo animals and don't like other hamsters. My friends hamster ate the other one. But hamsters like carrots and you buy lots of other treats. :)

Maybe he would like to eat some: salads,carrots,cucumbers,nuts...
I don't have a hamster ,never had one don't know much about them, but i think this is the kind of food they would like to eat.
