Islam is a way of life, Christianity is a cloud that comes along every now and then.
EDIT: I'm sorry. I shouldn't have not written that and stooped to a low level like some people bashing each other's religion when both religions promote peace and tolerance. It was incredibly rude of me, I apologize profusely.

Dear friend best way to find out about religion
is to read the Koran and the hadith or the Bible
yourself, rather then ask the people on here
and get confused with all different answers.
Islam the word in Muslim religion means peace,
and the Muslims fellow all the
prophets from Adam to Mohammed.(pbut).
As you only fellow Jesus and the Bible and go
to church only on Sundays and on funerals
that's if you feel like it and on the other hand the
Muslims pray five times a day and they have to learn to read the Koran in the their youths.
As for some of the Idiots who think that most Muslims beat up
their wives and make them cover their self,s by force is
total nonsense, they are free to do what they went and if you
read the Koran yourself you will see how it tell you to
respect your wife and every body and how peacefully it is
rather then some of the answer that some of the people have given.

Well in dogma they are pretty much the same in the sense that them both are abused by the elite to maintain the lower classes ignorant.
Muslins say that Islam is the religion for material and spiritual realisation. But then there are some Islamic millionaires and billions of hungry ones.
In Christianity a capitalist says to be Christian and goes to church, in the streets the beggars smell bad to him, but he does nothing to share and stop poverty.
The same can be said about other religions like Democracy, Socialism, Communism, Monarchy.
Oh did I say these are religions?, well they might as well be, political fanatics worship their leaders after all.
And even presidents waste their lives expanding a nation's might only to help cheating capitalists make more money than the president himself, helping them oppress the poor, whom get no money, job, or health care.

'book" every little thing you ever did and if you were a good person it is given to you in your right hand and then you may if god wills go to one of the 7 levels of paradise
Theres a story of why they stone people who comitt adultery women actually offer themselves to be stoned to death because supposedly it replinishes her sins with each rock that hits her and she goes to heaven

I am glad you have asked this question without being nasty, Islam is the way of life, the way to live, the way to respect elders, your family and friends. Islam and Christianity are near enough the same.. the same 10 commandments, we believe in Adam & Eve, Moses, Jesus, David, Jacob.. We all pray to one god, we all have a place to worship.. We believe that Jesus will be risen and rule the world, and he will buried next to our Prophet Muhammed (pbuh).. Islam is the way of life, believe in god and our Probphet Muhammed (pbuh), and be a good human you will enter paradise. We are not in this world for enjoying ourselves, for us it a test, of how we are live our lives, we are not here for long, and we should spend our time praying to god, and following our prophets Muhammed's ways. Ramadaan Mubarak

no i totally agree with The Guru on that and im a devoted christian!! you're right, many of us represent a false 'christianity', a chosen 'when i want to/feel like it' faith. and i think we need to take a leaf out of Islam, coz they've got something too many christians fail to recognise as vital!!! Too many christians and myself admittedly, do not do half the things Jesus taught us to do, (i think especially in the western culture, we have got too comfortable and protective of our money etc)
in response to the initial question, im not as sure about Islamic society, but i dont really think there is a real Christian society... America, and Britian are supposed to be, but actually, im British)i really dont know many people who go to church regularly, let alone who follow Jesus in their every day lives... dont even get me started on America!! hehehe!!! no they do some great things, but because its such a huge country, you do get the christian extremists.

Christians believe Jesus is the son of God, whereas Muslims believe Jesus (Isa) is a prophet in a long line of Prophets culminating with Mohammed.
Muslims accept the preachings of the previous prophets and those of Mohammed.
That is essentially the only significant difference.

the quran has a strict set of rules muslims should follow such as how the wash use the toilet and dress. Jesus only taught that God wants us to love him and each other.
basically islam is rules to follow in the hope of being Good enough for paradise where christanity is about knowing Jesus and loving others.
