Take shorter showers
buy energy star appliances
don't buy furniture made from wood from rain forests
next time you buy a car, buy an fuel efficient one
Buy green energy
use compact florescent light bulbs
In short- live green. People are really going to see your actions and, that way, you'll be addressing climate actions

Energy is not used very efficiently in North America so there are many opportunities to both make a profit and address global warming. My company identified a source of agricultural waste biomass that can replace about 60% of the coal used locally for electrical power generation. The venture will reduce greenhouse gas emissions and generate about $16 million per year in profit to be split between farmers, the utility and my company. The same idea can be repeated hundreds of times across North America. On a smaller scale, the best way for a homeowner to reduce greenhouse gas emissions is to insulate his/her house better. The homeowner will have lower utility bills and leave a healthier environment for his/her children.

I would love to see a tax on excessive packaging and junk mail. And I would love to see a deposit system put in place everywhere on cans, bottles, plastic containers, newspapers etc.
This would force people to recycle and cut down on pollution. And believe me this really does cut down on garbage. In places where people get money for cans and bottles, some people will deliberately go to parks or walk the streets looking for bottles and cans.
