Any idea how I can go about getting it fixed?
Did take it to one gun smith here in town & he said it is too old to repair. Is that true?
Thanks in advance.

I don't plan on using it, but would love to have it fixed. Just bought it because it was old & figured my son could add it to his collection.

This may help:

or http://www.e-gunparts.com/forum/forum2.asp?cat=12

If that is no help just keep trying gunsmiths in your area.

Either your gunsmith thought the gun wasn't worth repairing or you just didn't take it to the right gunsmith. Any good gunsmith can make a firing pin for it if he can't find one. All it takes is a bit of simple lathe work to turn one out. Another possibility is to look on the Dixie Gun Works web site and see if they have a firing pin for it. They carry a lot of old gun parts and may have what you want.

Most but not all gun smiths have kept parts from guns for years. Find the right gunsmith and chances are your part may be in his collection. Last hope the firing pin can be made by a good gunsmith. As a hobby for years i reconstructed or had guns reconstructed if you are going to follow this as a hobby get a gunsmith for a friend.

It is not too old to repair. Look for an 'amateur' gunsmith. Put a wanted ad in your local news paper looking for gunsmithing work, make sure you state firing pin issue.

You need to find a different Gunsmith.* It can be repaired by a competent Gunsmith.*
