You may need a bigger tv. We have Sky HD and most of the programmes are hugely different, sports being one of them. The best channels are Discovery and BBC though.

its the watery effect when a programme is not high def that (Deleted) me off. you get a clearer picture on a normal set. and seeing as how most programmes are still in normal def. its been a waste of money. things should improve with more programmes being filmed in HD.but I should have waited for SSD TV to come in.

We have HDTV, and while i agree with you that the picture isn't as noticeably different on the smaller TV's, it is very good on the larger one we have in the living room. It is 42 inches, and you can really see the difference in definition.

On a small screen like yours, the human eye cannot tell the difference between HD and SD.

But then hi-def broadcasts were never meant for small screen televisions - they were made for 32"+ screens.

I agree with you, I think hdtv is just a waste of money. On my tv i have lines on the sides where the hd doesn't take up the whole screen. My dad loves it but I can't figure out why
