My cat had kittens at 5 months I rang the vet, it is not that uncommon cats have their first season at 5 to 6 months. My cat have 4 perfect kittens and mumma was in good health

Yeah, a vet visit is the best way right now. 5-month-old kittens can get pregnant, I have seen it with my own eyes...but I am doubtful that is what has happened to your baby. It is pretty difficult to screw up a male cat neuter, so I would assume that your male is sterile. You can check him pretty easily, just feel his little kitty nut sack and see if you feel anything in there, should just be fuzzy but not firm. Also, with a pregnancy, it would not appear that fast. That is more what she would look like near the end of the pregnancy, not the beginning. If she has been dewormed (with a vet. prescribed wormer that handles all worms, including tape), it is possible she might have a bad case of gas, or maybe she is constipated for some reason. Have you seen her going to the bathroom? My last thought on what it could be is pyometra, an infection in the uterus that any female with a uterus can get. In cats it is noticeable because the uterus gets so big, it looks like a pregnancy but in reality the uterus is filled with pus. It can be very dangerous, so I hope that is not the case. When I see questions like this I always try to get the word out there on pyometra. Before I worked at a spay/neuter clinic I had never heard of pyometra, but I saw it make a lot of female cats sick. It is a great reason to get your female spayed even if she will never ever come in contact with a fertile male.

Has your kitten seen a vet yet for her kitten wellness examination? If so, please talk to her vet and see if she is healthy and physically mature enough to have kittens.

When my cats were kittens, my vet said they were 'kittens' until they were 18 months old. But even if you figure she will be an adult kitty at 12 months, you can see she is only half way to physical and mental maturity.

My instinct would be to say she is way too young. She may have been able to get pregnant, but that does not mean her body is ready for developing kittens.

If she has not had a kitten wellness exam by her vet yet, this would be the perfect time to schedule a visit. You can discuss with the vet whether having the kittens with be safe for her.

Good Luck!

worst thing is all will die... or she may live and be stunted for the rest of her life...might give birth then have no milk...
on the other hand she and kittens may live - which isnt good either (more kittens)
3 million cats and kittens are euthanized every year because more are born than there are homes for... even if yours find homes it means they took homes from some other kittens who will be put to death..

best option is for you to SPAY THE MOM NOW - while she is pregnant - abort the litter.
It sounds cruel but for her safety its the best, plus some kittens will be killed anyhow what difference does it make if its now or later?? save the mom - spay her NOW!

One of our cats was only about 6 months when she got pregnant. Her kittens were adorable. She acted normal until we gave away her last kitten, then she acted untame. So I wouldn't reccomend giving all her kittens away.

my cat was only like 5 months old when she got pregnat, the kittens turned out fine and she is as happy and healthy as she was before, but if you are worried consult a vet or a cat specialist and ask them more questions about it.

they probably willnot survive, her mothering instincts are not that strong.. she probably won't look after them.
I am sure she will live through the birth, but maybe you should have her spayed.. call the vet and ask them what they think is the right solution.....

Oh dear.

She isn't quite finished growing yet, so she will need a lot of TLC. And she will need to be spayed ASAP.

its a bit late asking that if she is already pregnant, you should have had her "done" before letting her out.
