Well first off...by now you should be wearing at least a training bra...why are you afraid to ask? If you feel uncomfortable "not wearing a bra" that would be the reason to ask for a bra.

I was in a shop yesterday trying on bras, and a girl in the next cubicle was being measured for her first bra. I wasn't eavesdropping - I was actually told by the assistant. But she was 12 as well. The assistant assured her that she had measured at least 9 girls her age that day, and that she shouldn't be embarrassed. She also said that if you don't have much to put into a bra (say 32A for example), then you should not get an underwired one, because it can hinder the normal breast growth process. After your first measurement, she said young girls should be measured every 6 months because it is during this time when you start growing more.

Why be embarrassed? Most women wear bras - once you're used to wearing them, they become about as embarrassing as wearing a T shirt or socks. Even if you don't necessarily 'need' to wear one yet, I understand that it's a big deal, especially when you start secondary (or high school). I didn't get one until I was about 11 or 12 - and that was only really because everyone else was wearing them. Please don't be embarrassed - wearing them is an important part of growing up!

Dont be embarressed bout it. Im 15 and cldnt wait to geta bra at your age!! haha. Me and my mates were always competeing for the better ones! Its nothing to be embaressed about. Go to your mum and ask her in private. We should all be able to tell our moms anything and everything - i do. If your that embaressed tho, go with your most loyal friend and get fitted properly. It may sound embarressing but believe me, ther is nothing worse than an ill-fitting bra!! and you will get used to get fitted as you get older. It can be really fun bra shopping so turn it into something fun and take the embarressment away from the situation. Good luck!

I was really embarrassed at first too. My boobs were getting really uncomfortable, and when I finally did ask, my mum said I didnt have big enough ones to warrant a bra, which frustrated me. So I went out and bought my own :)
But just ask. Im sure it wont be that bad.

I assume you are girl. I know a lot of transvestites are embarrassed when they wish to purchase female clothing particularly underwear but there is no need as most shop assistants are interested in getting a sale no matter to who so there is no reason at all why this should embarrass you. Lots of 12 years old girls need to wear bras and it is very sensible for all sorts of reason why you should start using a bra as soon as you need one so shop assistants in underwear departments and shops are quite used to dealing with and advising young ladies about this. So you just go for it .

as you are young and remember this?as it is very important to wear the correct size and you should be fitted properly this will pay off when your are older ?its like shoes wrong size sore feet in ten years time ,speak to mum she will be only to happy to take you?or go to marks and Spencer they will measure you up for you,or go to a bra shop and they will do the same once you have been fitted with the correct size you then can buy the cheaper ones as you Will know your size and when getting larger get measured again do not be embarrassed the Lady's are very helpful and they have boobs too good luck

it is kind of an embarassing thing, although it shouldnt be.
just sit your mom down and tell her that you need to go shopping.
i actually made like a list of all the clothes i needed, socks, undies, jeans, etc. and on the list i put bras, and then i was like, can you make sure everything is on there? and she didnt really say anything and we went out and went bra shopping.
yeah, i was lame, but it got the job done and i didnt feel that uncomfortable.
