Maybe instead of choosing a religion you should try just being spiritual. You don't necessarily need a religion in order to have a spiritual existence. If, however, you really feel that you need a religion to belong to, I suggest talking to multiple people from different religions and doing research on each religion you're interested in. That way you won't be surprised if you join a particular religion only to find out later that they believe something you don't.

Hello, I was asking exactly the same question to myself.. before , it is up to you , your choice what religion suits you, read about different types of religions, each religion has a different path.. some rules in a religion you might not agree with or be commited enough to abide by, ... i am hindu, my boyfriend is a hindu, i didnt only choose hinduism just because of that.. but i believe in it , look a bit more into each religion , and im sure you will find the right one for you :)

The following Criteria should be sought after:
1. The religion should worship the Creator of Heaven and Earth.
2. The relgion should provide a way out of sin and eternal death and hell.
3. The religion should provide you a standard of moral that you become useful to others and to God.
4. The religion should provide you with rule to be healthy physically, to be respected and poise socially, to fullfil your destiny of your existency and should make you happy.
5. The religion should register you as the citizen of the New Kingdom that is coming on Earth which the ruler is God himself and you will access to eternal life and the field of study and living is the whole Universe.
6. The religion should provide you with friends that are true to as a real companion.
7. The religion should restore your status as a sinner to become priest and sons and daughter of God back to where our ancestor Adam and Eve has enjoyed.
8. The religion should provide a sure foothold on guaranteed citizenship of heaven without your own efforts to reach righterousness but through faith and grace as a gift from God.
9. The religion should show you that The Creator love you so much that He personally cam to earth to reclaim you from eternal death by paying the penalty of your sin, which is eternal death and take that death upon himself.
10 The religion should provid a high moral standard for family life, respect of person, respect of life, respect of property, respect of the sanctity of the marriage relationship, respect of reputation and even control the moral from the mind.
I hope the above help

I was born into the Buddhist religion, but I'm very open minded in learning alot of other religions. I think you should just be like me I guess and learn from differnt religions. Every religion is unique and have different stories and stuff. I think you should learn about them all. It won't confuse you or anything or make you wonder which faith is real or whatever. It's just like learning about different cultures. Interesting to learn...

Religion in itself is service to God... How YOU worship and serve Him. Many groups serve in many different ways. Some teach the truth of God's Word, some their own ideas on what God wants...
Ask God first, before you decide... He will guide you.
John 3:16-21 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believes on him is not condemned: but he that believes not is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that does evil hates the light, neither comes to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that does truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
Just ask HIM!
Best wishes

I chose a religion that offered the least dogma and the greatest freedom of choice that included the core values of Christianity. For me spiritual growth depends on being able to question and think. Associating with others of like mind was important to me.
Since associating with people of like mind seems to be higher on most peoples list than absolute truth, then the best you can hope for is to associate with people of like minds who also allow for differences of opinion. Otherwise you can get stuck in a rut of falsehood.

Our creator is very misrepresented.
He is very loving & patient, & deserves our respect & obedience. It would be wise for you to find & follow that religion that teches his mind on everything, his principles, & what he requires of his followers presently.
To gain his help in finding him, you can request his help.
It is easy to do, once you've learned learned the necessary 'protocol'.
A very good book that unbiasedly covers the histories, beliefs, & teachings of world religions, is the book: "Mankind's Search For God".
The links below will take you to a few articles that will help you find the truly Scriptural answers your questions:
