To Sucka: I was born into it but when I was 7 we had a governess (a nice word for nanny/maid) who was from Britain and she was a Catholic Christian and she converted to Islam. We didn't even make an attempt at talking to her about Islam with the exception of explaining to her why we fast in Ramadan becuase it confused her. She converted after she went to a book store and got a translation of the Quaran and she asked my dad to help her understand it so he did. After she read she converted. I would like to ask you why you have so many anti-black, anti-Muslim and anti-Arab questions and answers in your profile? I would also like to ask you why you answered my question with another question?
Are you by any chance a member of the KKK?

It is the truth plain and simple. The human soul is always searching for truth, something that puts their life in equilibrium. In my opinion after reading the Qur'an or hear it being reciting one cannot deny that this is not God's word. As the daughter of a preacher and someone that converted when I was just 17 I have to say that it was hearing the Qur'an and watching everyone bow down in prayer that was the final catalyst in converting. I have never regretted my decision:)

Did you convert to Islam after reading the Koran or were you born into it?
The Koran is a small part of the world. An important part but still a small part. We would all be wiser to read the text of other religion. I tell catholic that the Koran has two chapters about Mary (mother of christ) but only a page in the bible. All these oddities are in our culture. People who cry racism should not act racist. I point out hypocites. If one gets caught they usually cry foul like that I am racist or anti muslim. Go ahead and judge me for what I have written. That's what it is there for. You said Americans should get over 9/11. But why can't you get over Jewish people right to their country? If you read all of my answers, I stand up for the rights of Palestine to have equality as well as Jewish right. They gain the most from peace. Not me here in America. But I can't force it on to them. If you wish to hate me, go ahead. I don't hate you. I hope one day, you can find peace within your self. As I know one day we will be sitting next to eachother on an airplane and not even know it. Salam Malecom, my young friend.

You base this on one man? I've read the Quran, I didn't convert. Just as I've read the Bible (several times) and am neither a Jew nor a Christian.
You do realize that #'s within a religion don't make it right, right? Christianity has been the largest religion for a long time. Was it right? And now suddenly when another religion comes along and gets converts, the "Truth" suddenly changes because people move on to something else?
Sorry, reality doesn't really work that way. All this proves is that some people are converting to Islam... and that's all it really proves.

Always? Are you claiming that if ANYONE reads the Koran they will convert to Islam?
If so, then you are no better than the silly Christian missionaries who try to convert Jews by asking them to just read the New Testament, because, after all, everyone they know who has converted to Christianity did so after reading the NT.

I think quite the opposite. They likely have not studied the Quran.
The Quran includes such passages as the following:
Kill unbelievers:
Sura 9:123. O ye who believe! fight the unbelievers who gird you about, and let them find firmness in you: and know that Allah is with those who fear Him.
Don't be friends with Jews or Christians:
Sura 5:51: O ye who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians for your allies and protectors: They are but allies and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily Allah guideth not a people unjust.
I would then suggest that they also learn the hadiths. "There are Hadiths (Islamic traditions attributed to Mohammed) regarding our struggle against the Jews. And it is given: 'The day of resurrection will not arrive until the Muslims make war against the Jews and kill them, and until a Jew hiding behind a rock and tree, and the rock and tree will say: 'Oh Muslim, oh servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him!' This Hadith clarifies to us the characteristics of the campaign between us and the Jews. The tree and the rock do not say 'Oh, Palestinian,' 'Oh Arab,' or 'Oh resident of the Middle East.' Rather they say: 'Oh, Muslim, Servant of Allah.'" (Palestinian TV, March 30, 2001)
If after study they still wish to be Muslims, I would suggest that they have their heads examined.
If you don't believe me, ask Tabatha.

Original question: Why does it seem that people always convert to Islam after reading the Quaran?
Because you only see what you wanted to see?

Why not? Qur'an is Islam's book of prophercy. Every muslim and muslimah have to read it. It increases the spirituality of a muslim, and makes all the non-muslim person convert into Islam. Qur'an is proving the reality of Allah SWT, the God of everything. Qur'an is also tells the history of God's Rasuls journey in their Dakwah.
