Withdrawls are the most miserable thing for an adult to go through. I have been through them many times before. Horrible!!!!
But imagine how it is for a newborn baby?
They will have pain. So as an adult and a mum I would perfer the pain and discomfort myself.
Getting off the Meth before their birth will allow the baby to detox and be born drug free.
BUT THIS MUST BE DONE UNDER MEDICAL SUPERVISION. For the baby will suffer the same symptoms as you. And most likely will become distressed. So needs to be constantly monitored.
Bloody good on you for considering your unborn baby, it's health and yours and both of your's future.
You need to seek professional help with this no matter what you decide.
It won't be easy believe me, but you sound as if you have the will to take charge of your life and change things for the better. So I believe you will not only make to best decision under medical care for the both of you. But succeed too.
I will add you to my contacts and you can do the same for me if you want anyone who has been through withdrawls, only recently again, if you want some support.
Good luck with your impending birth and health.

First off this site is just for advice, since it is your baby we are talking about, although we are all tying to help here you really have gotta ask your doctor before doing something so serious on your own, they may want to hospitalize you if you detox before you have the baby.
My worry is that a babys' organs begin to develop between month 3 and 4, so the baby is likely already addicted and I wouldn't think that it would be good to it to detox inutero. I'm not sure but I think 70ml a day is alot isn't it? I'm pretty sure that it wouldn't hurt for you to start to lower you dose a bit at a time.but how much at a time I am not sure.
If you don't have a doctor yet, usually the "Charity" hospital in your area will have a womens clinic and they all usually take walk in patients. They won't turn you away pregnant, Just go there early in the AM (8am) If you do have a doctor, simple call and ask them. Like I said a human life is nothing to mess around with and you are responsible for this one for a while!!
Take care of yourself and your baby, you should be proud of yourself for reaching out about this, you must be a strong person. Make good choices for your little one always . ;-)

Since the early 1970s, methadone maintenance treatment has been used successfully with pregnant women. There is consensus that methadone can be safely administered during pregnancy with little risk to mother and infant. Maintenance on methadone is necessary to prevent relapse to illicit opioid use and thus to maintain optimal health during pregnancy.
The majority of infants exposed to methadone in utero are healthy and have fewer adverse outcomes than infants exposed to heroin and other illicit drugs. Methadone maintenance treatment for pregnant women can reduce in utero growth retardation and neonatal morbidity and mortality, in comparison with women not in treatment (Finnegan, 1991). Such infants may be smaller at birth than nondrug-exposed infants, but differences tend to disappear over time. A careful review of the major studies of long-term neurobehavioral effects of methadone on exposed infants revealed no methadone-associated adverse effects (Kaltenbach and Finnegan, 1984).
My comment-
Since you are already in second trimester, you may or rather should continue minimal dose to keep you free from withdrawal symptoms.
Doctor's advice will be the best, although I am a doctor. It will be better if you consult your doctor. Examination + reports of investigations etc make a lot of difference.
Good luck!

I'm really sorry but I have no sympathy you should have thought of the consequences before you decided to have a poor baby. I hope for your child's sake that he/she is a healthy happy baby and you get your act together and be there for your child not decide you cant cope and start jacking up again. Please Stop going around with other users there is too much temptation and your child MUST come 1st now NOT you! Go and see your DR/Drug Councillor and get advice don't just sit around waiting until it's too late.
My brother is/was a junkie been doing it since he was 15 he's now 27 he has a child that he's not allowed to see he sees that as an excuse to feel sorry for himself and keep doing what he does and blame all of his problems on the rest of the world rather than getting strong and sorting himself out.
I hope your a stronger person than that and you can see light at the end of the tunnel please don't relapse.
GOOD LUCK

Anything you are pushing through your body , and that includes the methadone will have an affect on your unborn child and could have a knock on to its health .
I applaud that you are thinking about what may harm this child , and to maximise what you may be able to do before any more harm can be done seek health from your GP and drugs councillor.
I hope for your , but mainly the unborn childs sake that it is born healthy and you need to stay focused even after it is born and stay away from drug use.
Good Luck

I'm really sorry to tell you, that your child's organs start to develop in the first 3 months of pregnancy and maybe your abuse of meth has already messed up an organ or a couple of organs by now. Who knows lets pray to god your baby is ok, but you should go to a rehab clinic and get help in hopes that you're able to prevent any more harm done done to that unborn child. Get help , please!

My sister is at the instant 34 weeks pregnant, and before she found out she grew to become into pregnant, she grew to become into eating heavily, chain smoking, taking slumbering drugs (rozarem) it particularly is in a unfavourable being pregnant class, and taking methadone for lower back problems. She did all this in the time of the 1st trimester (she did no longer locate out till she grew to become into merely approximately 4 months pregnant. She's obese and her classes have consistently been screwey). besides, after having each attempt nicely-known to guy (bloodwork, amnio, numerous genetic exams, multiple ultrasounds (which comprise 3-D) and so on., she found out that her toddler is thoroughly healthful devoid of start defects. She grew to become into on 60 mg. consistent with day on the time she found out she's pregnant, and now i think she's on 25 or 30 mg. Her surgeon desires to wean her off it thoroughly throughout her final month of being pregnant so as that the toddler isn't born and pass by using withdrawal. i'm no longer asserting how she behaved grew to become into suitable, yet she's VERY fortunate to have a healthful toddler on the way. Her surgeon has progressively been lowering her dose in the time of her 2d and nil.33 trimester, and he or she's suffered no ill effects from it. She even had lower back surgical treatment collectively as she grew to become into 5 months pregnant, and got here by using with flying colours. tell your sister to work out an ob/gyn who makes a speciality of severe probability pregnancies. they might desire her to work out a genetic counselor like my sister did. in spite of happens, sturdy success to her and her candy toddler! i'm going to shop them in my techniques and prayers.
