I've been off of it for over 5 years. I exercise every day, 5 mi. on the bike,I hit the weights and do calistenics. However, I can't lose the appitite that I never had while using.

I know what your thinking, junkie looser!! but people do change, in prison I found God, education ( I now have an engineering degree) and respect for my body.

Although I am built (6' 225lbs.) and can bench 300+ free weights (scarry uhn) , I still have belly fat. I tend a strict diet, low fat meats (chicken, turkey), fish, fruits and vegtables. I eat alot and am never full. prison food goes right through you if you know what I mean. I was wondering if there was a drug that would help me without any side effects such as sleeplessness and addiction or should I find a more strict set of exercises that curtail to weight loss.

Is it old age, I am 42?

monkeyhijinx, I'm not in prison anymore. The problem started when I got out, and yes you are right I do have a tendency towards addiction and I want to avoid that.

As for the cowpie ***. go blow yourself while watching coldback mountain.

The metabolism at that age isn't good as it was when you were younger. I suggest that you just keep up what you have been doing. Do sit ups and see what happens, all drugs have side affects by the way.

First off, I don't think that you are a looser because you used to use. With that said, I don't think that you have thought your whole theory through about heroin itself enabling you to stay thin. I also want you to think about saying in your 2nd paragraph that you have a respect for your body and then in the next paragraph you want to know if there is a pill to help you stay thin.

Okay now, lets break this down....It really wasn't the heroin alone that was keeping you thin. It was more like the drug made you "relaxed" and "lazy" therefore food a wasn't needed to keep you satisfied and even if it was you likely would not have wanted to get up a prepare a meal for yourself.
Odds are that your kitchen wasn't fully stocked either, you had to have your money to score. Being an addict is alot of work and very complicated, just the finding, buying and using is enough to keep your adrenaline to where you don't feel hungry. So, if you think about it you were just too wrapped up in your lifestyle to eat. Instead of eating being a part of your lifestyle like it is now.
It sounds like to me that you have really got it together and are keeping yourself very health, don't regress back to thinking that a pill can fix a problem. You may need to work on your will power when it comes to snacking, and when you do snack make them a little bit healthy at least. Like fruit and cheese. I buy already cubed cheese and usually red or black grapes and munch on them when I get hungry in the afternoon just to hold me over till dinner, which is always light. When I want something sweet, sometimes baby carrots will do it. Note though that I said sometimes. lol
After getting clean myself and I have heard other friends tell me that the weight gain is inevitable. We didn't really spend alot of time playing sports or at the gym while we were using so although we were nice and thin while using, we weren't toned or thin due to our healthy lifestyles. haha. If you belong to NA, look around at a meeting most of us with 5 or more years have some sort of middle age spread. lol Besides, it sounds like for your height and the fact that you work out your weight is fine. If your stomach is bothering you then work on those muscles but, I personally don't see anything wrong with a 42 yr old man with a little bit of belly. Makes you look healthy and happy. ;-)

So just keep eating and living like you are, no worries about a bit of belly fat!! And no diet pills of any sort!!!!!!!

Are you still in jail, cant you exchange jail for like a rehab centre or something, tell them you'll be good ;-)

Try sit ups as most of ur exercises seem to be focused on your periphery, your legs, and your arms are probably really toned but the belly only goes away when you starve/work on it. u are making me feel lazy.

i dont think a weight loss drug is the route you should be considering, they can be dangerous and you have a bit of a liking for drugs in your past. if ur previously an addict, it is easy for you to get addicted to other things, you can get addicted to anything psychologically. And fat burning drugs are not good cos you're eating so healthy.

Your age is definitely a factor, as your metabolism is slower. Men retain fat on their bellies and girls retain fat on their hips broadly speaking. It will go, but you need to limit calories I think. It can go very quickly on me, but it can reappear quick too.

Try some coke or crystal meth. They will help you loose weight without a Doctor's prescription.
