I end up buying lunch along the way, but I want to pack a basket. My creative mind isn't working. It's for this coming weekend.

Cold, cooked chicken, veggies, fruit, cheese and crackers, cold drinks, brownies or cookies from the bakery, deviled eggs (if you have time). Yum!

Cold, roasted chicken is nice, with some sides of potato salad, pasta salad or broccoli salad. Or you could do chicken salad or roast beef on crusty rolls with arugula. Or just do salami, cheese, grapes, artichoke hearts, roasted red peppers, melon, and some bread...that's always nice and easy! Be sure to pack some water, napkins, utensils and such!

How about pasta salad and adding bell pepper strips, onions, peas or whatever else you like and toss with your favorite vinaigrette?
