behindth... Member since:

i have been studying in UK for the past year, i finished my courses and passed.
now i want to renew my visa, i sent my application to the home office, but i lied about the fact that im working, in the application i ticked the "no" box.
I got an answer from the home office yesterday asking me to send my bank statements, is it to check whether i lied or no or to check that im able to pay for my courses?
Im stuck now and i dont know what to do...
should i say that i ticked it by mistake? or that i was on holidays so i had the right to work full time?
plz any advice will be helpful to me...
thanks a lot
:(((((

Firstly your Visa clearly states that you are not permitted to work, paid or not.Your Bank Statements are your footprint of your activities whilst in the UK.So you are a self confessed liar who is going to ever beleive you again.Am i supposed to say to you Good Luck no its good riddance.

I would think that you may have problems by not declaring the fact that you were working and the home office will investigate. When you send the bank statements write a polite letter stating that you kept a copy of the form and noticed that you had ticked a box incorrectly and apologise for the inconvenience you have caused by this error - this may help - if you say you were on holiday you would have to prove that you were in fact on holiday with all documentation, witness statements etc - the reason they have asked for the bank statements is to check money coming into the account (ie from an employer) and also to show that you have sufficient funds

I am a little confused in the fact though when you say you have finished your courses so therefore you cannot apply for a student visa unless you plan to advance your education - are you applying to a visa to stay and work in UK ? This is a different process and you should check with the Home Office

Sorry cannot advise more until I have more details of circumstances and what your plans are

Good luck anyway - hope everything works out for you

You have to send the information that they ask you to provide, thus what they are doing these days. I think they want to check how many hours you are working.,they might refuse to give you a visa if they want to. A friend of mine was asked to provide bank statement, wage slips and a letter from employer confirming her employment status. They still refuse to give her a visa now she appealing.

I think you should say that you ticked by mistake.

Good luck
