Not necessarily the best guitarists, but rather the guitarists who are unique and put an odd twist to their guitar work instead of the normal stuff.

I'd say Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave. The solo in "Killing in the Name" is really interesting....

Wow Gregory...not only was that a good song but that really was unusual.

Graham Coxon of Blur.

He's made just about every sound with his guitar.

From acid, to shoegaze, to punk, to metal, to clean, to pop, alternative, to helping compose the Beagle 2 Space Probe tune with his guitar, to crappy gospel, to techno, african/afro-beat, to psychodelic, to disco, to ballet, to even a solo career because he's just that awesome.

He's probley used every amp effect, pedal, pick up, distortion and tuning there is to date haha.

He's really good.

Check out some of his early and later stuff in Blur. Don't bother with the middle stuff because I'm sure someone like you doesn't like British Pop music.

Listen to Chinese Bombs and Beetlebum by Blur. That's great later creative work. Blur is also the band that did "Song 2" or, known as in America, "Woo Hoo!"... Even though I hate that song sooo much. It is some good guitar work, but it's a shame that's the only song they are known for in America.

And my favorite songs, There's No Other Way and She's So High by Blur, is some of his best early work too.

And if you like that he's got a solo career to.

Man's a genius.

Raining Blood has a great solo guitarist, and I agree with Tom Morello. I heard Be Yourself by Audioslave and was startled at the guitar, and Guerilla Radio by RATM. Also dont forget Carlos Santana- incredible guy.

Id say Zakk Wylde. At Ozzfest 2007 he played a 10 minute solo, at first he was doing okay, then he put the guitar behind him and played, then he used his face to play.... It was pretty funny, but he was still REALLY good. He played better with his face than most guitarists do with their hands, looking down, when their offstage and theres no pressure on them.

I wouldn't say he's the "most" unusual guitarist but Jimmy Page. He would play with a violin bow and it made the creepiest noises. It sends shivers down your spine

Well, depends. I think Buckethead is very unusual. It's how he strums like in a circle.

Unusual? Anybody can sound unusual with the right gear, how you play and what makes the guitarist different/strange is how they play. ...If anybody knows what I mean.

Street performer Mark Goffeney. He plays on an unmodified guitar with only his feet, because he has no arms.

Here he is doing Tom Petty's Last Dance With Mary Jane
