The Duggar family had their 17 child last month and they want more. I'm interested in what other people think of this.

I'd have no problems if they were actually the ones "bringing up" the younger children. Every older child has a "buddy" who is a younger child and they are basically responsible for that child as it grows up, to me that is totally unfair to the older children.

Besides that if they are the ones paying for their up-bringing and provide them with a home and food, it's not really my place to say how many children a person can have.

I think its disgusting. How can you be a good parent to 17 children? There probably all attention starved Jesus freaks. I have nothing against Christians (I'm catholic) but having so many children is not in the best interest of them. Have a few kids and devote your time and love to them. Its impossible that all 17 are happy and getting the attention they need.

well i have 3 of them and they are all little and close in age, they are hard to keep up with and hard to afford.( i am a single mom) i wonder how they take it when they don't mind. 1 of mine have add and some cancer problems, the other has adhd and bounces off the walls constantly, and the other one is only a 2 months old so some days i wonder how long i will be sane before it leaves me. but they are great kids, i just don't know if i could take having that many of them. no thanks

Well...I'm sure that sex is very unfun for both the husband and the wife after 17 children. I also think it's kind of sad for the oldest children because they're the ones mostly taking care of everyone else.

17 is too many.
they probably don't pay much individual attention to each child and they made their kids do work for them such as watch their younger siblings or build their own house. the mom also homeschools her children. how can she teach 17 kids who are all at different age levels? they must be getting a shitty education. she's not even a certified school teacher. they probably homeschool their kids so they could brainwash them into believing everything they believe without outside influences.

i wish i was that fertile! My mum delivered a baby to a woman who already had 17 children (in the 70's). If they can care for them emotionally, financially and physically why not? Good luck to them

proffessional pensioners and a drain on the government.

I have no pity for the husband and the wife split up and he has to pay maintenance for 17 children.

it would be impossible to show each child the love, care and attention they need

As long as I don't have to support them, they can have 17 more.

Don't have them if you cannot afford them without relying on your community to be your own personal charity. Don't get me wrong..they appear to be wonderfully obedient children on TV, but the parents need to practice the rhythm method more.
