Ok this is only my opinion.....It all depends on the child's maturity level....My parents were always really open with all sexual things, and I believe that kept me from going out and trying to investigate myself! SO measure your child's maturity level...If you have been very informative with them about dating and things that could happen on a date, then I think they are ready...BUT if you were kinda closed mouth with all types of info about dating and sex then you don't need to let this happen....because if you don't tell them about these things they WILL find someone who will be MORE THAN WILLING to share their knowledge.....this is NOT a good thing! My mom always let me know that sex was for married people but it wasn't a shameful thing....SO I always knew that it was something to look forward to but It was also a thing I needed to wait for...So really the answer is all about how you raised your child...Good luck.....and God Bless!!

Lots of great answers I think emotionally 15-16, from age 13 studies are very important and being in relationships can change some teenagers focus, it must be hard when going to a mixed school but it all depends on the level of a teenagers previous exposure and person confidence. Parents should encourage their children to talk to them about stuff if they need to, and create them mentors that they feel comfortable with...

I was allowed to date until a couple of months after my 16th birthday..no exceptions. I also wasn't allowed in a car with a boy until then. My parents also had to meet any boy I dated. The rules seemed strict at the time but they certainly didn't do me any harm. I didn't end up pregnant like all of the girls that had no rules or supervision in place. I'll have the same rules for my daughter.

Well, I would say 15 or 16. Before that age, they are still young children in many senses. I would actually prefer 17 or 18; dating distracts from school work.

They actually start "dating" in grammar school, but officially neither of my kids could go on an unchaperoned date until they are 16, which my daughter just turned. I won't let her in a car though with the person until I meet them and make sure that they are safe.

16, before that one hasn't quite learned much in the way of being resposible. At 16 most kids have their driver's licenses and are at least LEARNING how to be responsible and being accountable for their actions. Any earlier they're not mature enough to even FAKE being responsible. The reason 13 and 14 year old girls are getting pregnant is because 13 and 14 year old girls are allowed to date...

What an excellent question. I am a parent, and I don't know if there is an age per say. I think you have to look at every child as an individual, and make a decision on their own personal growth. You have to hope that you did your job right as a parent, and instilled good morals, and education in them. But, to answer your question, good kid (you have no fears) - Jr. high. Questionable kid - High school (because you have to cut them loose sometime). Good luck with that. I will be asking myself the same question before I know it.

i would not enable my son or daughter to this point before the age of 17. After that, i might enable them to this point, on the grounds this is an identical age i began out relationship, and that i don't want to be a hypocrite and say "you're actually not allowed to do an identical component mom did at your age." i might desire my baby is mature sufficient through that age, yet even then, i might dissuade them from relationship until they are waiting for the dedication of marriage - this is to not say that they might desire to marry the 1st guy or woman they date, yet that they might desire to comprehend that relationship is a intense duty wherein, in case you're being careless or doing it "basically for relaxing" you have the ability to wreck yet somebody else. yet this is purely my opinion... i comprehend an excellent form of folk do not consider me, and picture relationship is a calming and harmless interest for babies - yet then they ask your self why there are this way of super form of problems between little ones in the present day as properly...
