Okuma reels are made in China. I have two only problem I have with them is they are on the heavy side, and good reels for the price.
There is only one reel company where the reels are made in the United States Of America. & they are Ardent http://www.ardentoutdoors.com/

Okuma is made in China. A few years ago you could buy an Okuma 9-ball bearing reel cheap. Today the prices have gone up a lot. By the way still an excellent reel for the price.

i think you will find Okuma is either Japanese or Korean

its a korean firm however i think their products are produced in china
