There is a book with that title, by Richard Friedman. I highly recommend it.
There are 66 books in the Protestant Bible (more in the Catholic and Orthodox Bibles), and most of them were written by different authors. Every book, with the exception of some of the letters of Paul, is anonymous.

A bunch of ruthless men, living in a time period oh so long ago. In a society of rape, murder, and slavery, you can relate to the number of things in bible including those. I believe that it was used for some form of political power, that would be held up for order against others for power, and to create laws. But that's just what I think; To sum things up.
1) Jesus didn't write the Bible
2) God didn't write the Bible
3) No one knows who wrote it

The bible was written by more than forty authors from every walk of life, including kings, military leaders, peasents, philosophers, fishermen, tax collectors, poets, musicians...and many others.
But the ispiration to all of it came from God: 2 Timothy 3:16 states that “All scripture is inspired by God….”
