I think that you can live forever, if you want, and if you are loving. Then your kids will remember you, and tell their kids about how great you were, and their kids will tell their kids about you, and the next thing you know, you have been immortalized.
But, what if you say to your kids, " I am ashamed of you", what will your remembrance be? Will your grandchildren love you , or your great-great granchildren ever remember your name?
My grandmother, Gloria, had a picture of an unknown relative hanging over the bed in the guesthouse. It was a "serious" picture, and she used to say " now go to sleep, or Uncle Richard will get you", and all I could do was look at that picture, and see those eyes looking directly at me. I knew gramma was right. No, I couldn't sleep, but, yes, I was very quiet, under the gaze of an unloving creature.

That may be possible... but, I had a startling discovery a while back when one of my daughters was talking about some memories...and she atributed everything to her Grandmother, yet, I had been the one whom was responsible for most of her "memories".... After that, I thought about how different each of my siblings ...including myself...have shared memories of our past... and I began to wonder how many others have found that to be true.

LOL I really don't know now WHAT the children will remember of me... I used to think I knew... strange to think the only things they will remember is that I am honest and will try to bend over backwards not to break any laws...I hate the heat and love the cold...I am always reading and writing and studying "something", that I love comedies but dislike anything that portrays a child being hurt... and so on. On one hand, that sounds "ok", but, I rather wish they will remember my heart, love, Faith, and so on.... (sigh)

Peace be with you all :)

We will reap what we sow. The older I get, the more I think about the legacy I will leave my children and grandchildren. I also make sure to tell them about my father and grandparents who passed before most of them were born. I want them to know their heritage, and appreciate those precious people. I hope I am not the picture that might be used to frighten future generations! "Crazy Eagle Mimi. She wasn't right in the head. Got thrown from the horses just one time too many. She still rides wild horses and runs over bad little children."

how did she know it was uncle richard, if the person was unknown?

instant kharma isn't going to get you, but overconsumption of processed carbs and lack of exercise will wreak havoc on your thighs...

they are not as unrelated as many people think...
