I think that you can live forever, if you want, and if you are loving. Then your kids will remember you, and tell their kids about how great you were, and their kids will tell their kids about you, and the next thing you know, you have been immortalized.
But, what if you say to your kids, " I am ashamed of you", what will your remembrance be? Will your grandchildren love you , or your great-great granchildren ever remember your name?
My grandmother, Gloria, had a picture of an unknown relative hanging over the bed in the guesthouse. It was a "serious" picture, and she used to say " now go to sleep, or Uncle Richard will get you", and all I could do was look at that picture, and see those eyes looking directly at me. I knew gramma was right. No, I couldn't sleep, but, yes, I was very quiet, under the gaze of an unloving creature.
