I would venture to say that if you have access to a computer w/ Internet create a search. If you know what state prison he is in just type "state" prison. For example if you type in "Ohio Prison" you can find a link that will take you to an offender search. http://www.drc.state.oh.us/OffenderSearch/Search.aspx
That one is the offender search for the state of ohio. You can fill in the required fields to get the information you need. Like his name is the easiest way to find him in this type of search. I am unsure about other state websites ease of use. Good luck. If you want to you can email and I will try to help you find him.

I would imagine it depends on your age. I can't see the prison system giving info out to a child. However if you are of age and know which prison your father is in I would suggest contacting the prison. If nothing else maybe you can get an address on where to write to him. My question is why does your mom not want to tell you anything? She may have a good reason for not wanting you to contact him. Please think about that before you do anything. I can understand wanting to know your father but some things are better left alone. See if maybe she will explain to you why she feels the way she does. If you approach her in a mature way maybe she will feel you are ready to talk to about it. What ever you decide, good luck and best wishes.

if you know what prison, get the address and send him a letter, then have him write you back at a friends address so your mother doesn't intercept the letter. If you don't know what prison then figure out what state, and call the department of corrections,, and ask the exact address for him. you can also get a p.o.box from any mail box store that ships and packs stuff or the post office, so he can send you mail to your own p.o box, and they are only like 2 dollars a month.

Do you know if he's in a State Prison or a Federal Prison and do you know where ?
If you know what he went to prison for it would help. Also was ther a record of his arrest ? Did he plea bargain or have a jury trial ? The reason I mention these things is once you answer one thing it will lead to other relative answers.

Almost every state corrections website, and the federal site, has a database where you can search for an inmate by name. That would tell you where he is, the address of the prison, etc. They'll also tell you how to contact him, where to send the letter, visitation info, etc.

Alright, first of all, whoever made the OJ Simpson profile is a genius.
Second, your question. It may not be possible. You might have to go with an aunt, or grandparent or something, but if that's not possible, I don't think there's anything else you can do, yet. Not to say that when you're older you can't. I can't claim to know the situation, but your mother might have an distrust for letting your father near you.

Call the prison and ask for his booking number and they will give you all the info. Write to him and if you don't want your mom to find out get a p.o. box or if you work have him send you the letters at work.

Try to get as much information on where he currently is and try to send him a letter instead of visiting him first, cause he might not want to see you visiting him in such a state. Tell him about yourself and how you would like to visit him sometime. Build the bond between you two up slowly before you visit him, it'll make things less awkward when you meet.
Good Luck

Find him by going to the Department of Corrections website for the state he is incarcerated in. See if they have an offender search page (Like Florida, etc). Find the prison he is in, and call there. Ask for the visitation schedule. The rest is up to you and your father.
Congrats to you for wanting to contact him!!

You will need to know which, prison, and state he is in, and his DOJ #
You can find out this information by going to
https://www.jpay.com//login.aspx?RetrunUrl=/Default.aspx
This is a site that allows you to send money to a person in prison, but it will also tell you which prison he is in and his DOJ # You will need to know his full name, and date of birth.
You will probably need to write him to make sure you are on his visitors list, and to find out visiting hours,
Hope this helps good luck.
