Part of that training is MCT which is 22 days long. A lot of the training is completed at either Camp LeJeune or Camp Pendleton, but training can be completed at different bases across the US depending on what your MOS is.

After MC boot camp, the new marine will generally report back home for 2 weeks to spend time w family. Some will also help their recruiter get some more poolies to join. After the time spent at home.. They will go to camp geiger , NC which is soi .. ( school of infantry ) where they will spend 18 days doing marine corps combat training. After the completion of combat training , they will receive orders to be at their duty station for their mos school. Upon graduation of mos school , they will go to their permanant duty station.

The location of your OJT or further MOS will depend on you, and the MOS. As long as you continue to excel in your field of study you will be allowed to progress to the next level or even MOS.
For instance, I was assigned radio tech, but worked hard and became an Air Traffic Controller. At the time, ATC was 4 weeks more education than the basic electronics and radio classes at NAS Millington. Because I finished ahead of my class, and passed, I was allowed to change MOS.

You go to school! It depends on what you are specializing in on where you go. My husband is a gas engine mechanic and he went to school on Lejeune. I have a friend who is a tank mechanic and he is in school in Kentucky. Deseil engines can go to Missouri. I dont know about much else except the mechanics. But like I said it depends on what you do, that also determines how long it takes to get done with it. It took my husband 9 months to finish everything, from basic to school. It should have only took 6 but there wasnt room in the classes things to let him in. Hope this helps.

You will go to MCT either on the west or east coast, depending where you go to boot camp. Then to MOS school. From there to your unit in the fleet.
