Condoms are not equal to abortion but most forms of birth control are. Condoms prevent conception (except when they fail, which is frequently), but most forms of birth control prevent implantation in the uterus of the already developing embryo. Therefore they actually cause an early abortion. This includes pills, injections and implantations, and IUD's.

You know this is a serious case. Personally if you ask me, aborting a growing fetus, one that is in the process of development, since it is a developing product of the two polarities of male/female (the spermatozoa and the ovum), imo is stopping the very process of life, rather people want to see it as not being alive or not, it is in the potential phase to in its process to become alive. To me there is a sanctity to all life, whether big or small, if people don't want to get pregnant then don't have sex, or wear protection, but putting an end to a potentiality that is literally growing and developing (a fetus) all because it was inconvenient to your lifestyle (the cultural mindset that you have been imbued with), is not the way to go. To me the sanctity of life is important. Sin is knowledge not lived, it is not applying what you know (hence falling short). For abortion to be so common place to put an end to an unborn fetus is just not right, has never sat well with me, it's horrible and my thoughts have nothing to do with religion.
Birth-control in the way I see things is merely preventing the two polarities from actually forming a product through the union. But I don't advocate either, but birth-control is not the same. There is a bit of hypocrisy though, because the religious who call out sins go about and do things themselves, like buy birth-control pills, wear condoms so they can go out and have a bunch of sex and not live what their religion is all about, but be hypocrites. However even if they are pretty much hypocrites abortion is horrible, at least to me. There is an sanctity to life that people take for granted or seek to not acknowledge when they only think about themselves and in this world people will say anything to satisfy their own selfishness to not see that there is life growing inside of them... "o it doesn't feel anything," "It's not even a real baby yet," but that's completely not the point. It's not about religion, because people don't know what sin is anyways, its about ethics and what do we deem life? And should we end this process of life because of cause and effect? To me a potentiality that is literally expanding and growing in capacity, IS life and really there is no greater example of LIFE. To me there is no justification in it.
But yes people in Christianity and etc are all hypocrites.

As in no baby? Here's the thing, those who believe that a zygote/fetus has a soul, think that abortion is a sin because they think it's murder.
Birth control on the other hand, does not cause the 'death' of an unborn 'child'. Lots of people out there lie about this fact, but they're just misogynists.
If birth control is a sin because it results in no babies, then so is abstinence.

I mean you no disrespect and I assume from your other questions and answers that you are pro-choice, but is there a difference between never getting a cat or dog and getting one and then killing a cat or a dog? Know what I mean? I realize that this argument really boils down to when a fetus becomes a person and you and I may disagree on that --- but there's no real comparison in what you're saying; apples and oranges, really.
There are *some* forms of BC that some people equate with abortion because of the way that they work (I am not really among those people but that discussion is for another day) ---- but generally speaking, most Christians realize that preventing conception is far different than terminating a child/fetus who is already conceived.
I may get many thumbs down because my answer is pro-life. Still, I think that my argument stands even if you are pro-choice. There's a big difference between deciding never to buy a house and buying one and burning it down.

I think neither is a sin. In fact, I don't believe in 'sin'. I believe people are human and make mistakes...
Back to the question...I'd vote neither and the real mistake is assuming 'pro-life' is correctly named. That is a definite misnomer since the only fully developed human life involved is not considered but a fetus, which has a chance of not developing correctly or to the full term, is considered under the false assumption that it is a normal, fully developed child.

yes and no. Birth Control in the form of "the pill" or IUD cause spontaneous abortion of the fertilized egg when it tries to implant on the wall of the uterus. Barrier methods do not but also are sinful in that they prevent a full giving of self during the marital embrace.

Neither are sins, since neither harm another. An ova is not a living thing; neither is a first trimester fetus. Science has proven this quite conclusively.
And since I am firmly rooted in reality, I get my facts from the only factual source: science. Religion can blow me.
