Actually, I am LDS/Mormon and I believe the gospel we are taught is the same that was taught to Adam and Eve and that Christ taught while on the earth...so to me, the 'mormon' religion came very first...just wasn't called 'mormon'.

I am surprised no Mormon has answered you yet on this question. By means of "history," Mormons believe that native americans are those who left the Plates Joseph Smith translated into the Book of Mormon of "peoples" Jesus taught here in the americas. Of course christianity had to come "first" if you count to works of the Apostles and Paul within the first century, but it is also the time Jesus left, and went throughout the world and taught other cultures of himself, so debate wise by written word, christianity "wins," or "does it ?"

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1. In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. You see God the Father and Son co-existed before the foundations of this world were created. Godhead is the beginning and the end. Jesus testified of His Father character and was the true church. Remember religion is made by man. The Bible and the Bible alone!

most people would say Christianity began with Jesus Christ
and Mormonism began with Joseph Smith.
it's been roughly 2000 years since the time of Jesus (we reckon our time by him -- look up what the latin abbreviation A.D. means) whereas Joseph Smith was born in the early 1800s, so Mormonism has only been around for roughly 150 years.
Joseph Smith pulled the same trick that Mohammad did with Islam.

The doctrines that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teach are eternal and Christian.
Historically, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was founded April 6, 1830. It was called the Church of Jesus Christ. The name was later changed to distinguish it from the original church that Jesus Christ established while He was on the Earth.
