It's a gastroenterologist. But before you go , try this: (It's the first thing the doctor will tell you to do.) Raise the head of your bed 6 inches. I REALLY hope that helps you. Good luck! :)

Something is making you sick to your stomach! I do not know the precise reason nor have the panacea; but I can make some suggestions. Look inside yourself at your lifestyle. Do you have unresolved problems that you are keeping close to your chest and which are burning you up inside? If you do,the knowledge that you have an inner conflict is the initial step. What are you going to do next? Now if you have no problems, think about the next suggestion. Do you go on vacations? When was the last one? There is a saying that crossing water will get rid of a lot of things. My Mom had a wart that resisted every medical treatment. She visited her sister for a while and when she returned it was gone. One time she touched the radio during prayer for healing and a mole on her eye fell off. Whether you believe in crossing the water, in God or not, vacation is a break from the regular routine. The final suggestion (because of time and space) is to keep a journal . It will help you to discover what activities, food, events etc. result in the medical situation.

A gastroenterologist will probably want to look down your throat and see if your esophagus shows signs of precancer, and then will prescribe an acid suppressant and/or schedule you for surgery, depending on how things look.
My mom had bad heartburn for years and ended up having surgery to repair the sphincter at the top of her stomach. (She used to eat Tum's like it was candy and sleep upright. Then she tried "the purple pill", a prescription acid suppressant, and gained a bunch of weight.) She's much better now since the surgery. My brother and I (both in our 30's) also have problems with heartburn. I think my brother wants to get the surgery.
I've found I can almost eliminate the heartburn completely (down to a slight annoyance a few times per month) by taking good-quality digestive enzymes and eating more raw foods like salads. I eat a big one almost every day, now. (Today, I didn't, and tonight I'm having a little burn in my throat.) If you help your stomach digest the foods by eating that way, your body doesn't have to attack the food with so much acid, and your stomach empties more quickly.
If you take an acid suppressant, be aware that changing the PH of your stomach reduces its ability to destroy harmful bacteria. Your stomach acid is one of your body's first lines of immune defense.

You can go to ur regular Doc- An Internal Med Specialist would be the Physician to see. Also, a Gastrologist is an option. In the meantime, here are a few sites:

Start with your family doctor and he should be able to help. Worse case scenario, you will need to see a gastroenterologist, however, you would probably need to be in serious shape before the PCP would send you there.

The specialist is a GI doctor. But depending on your insurance, you might have to visit your primary care physician first!
