the only way to get papers in america is to either get married to an american or work until u reach hell. don't u think if the government made more choices for those people that believe in the land of oppurtunity their wouldn't be so many illegal immigrants. they only come here to live a good life instead of living poor. america is supposed to be "land of oppurtunity"

You are only 16 yrs old you really don't understand the system being you didn't even know if you were here legally.

Just a few facts. The world population is 6 billion 6 hundred million. of those people 4+ billion are poor. The USA is 3 hundred million. If we let every one that was poor in this country because they want to live like an US citizen this country would be poor.
Instead of the USA being 300 million we would be 4 Billion 300 million.
Country have to take care of their own people and make their lives better as do parent with their child there isn't difference.

America IS one of the lands of opportunity if a person has skills, and education. The menial jobs todays illegal immigrants usually perform are not exactly opportunities. The overwhelming majority of these people who obtain jobs illegally and/or suck up US government benefits maybe will have more money to support their families but they are still below poverty level. So instead of 2nd class citizens in Mexico they are now 4th class citizens in the US and poverty is relative.

BTW, no matter how relaxed U.S. immigration standards could rationally be, the overwhelming majority of these people would not qualify unless the sole criteria was warm bodies willing to work at anything...

America is the land of opportunity because we were willing to fight to make it so. and that opportunity is for all American citizen. no, i do not believe the US government owes it to any other group of people to come here and have a shoot at are way of life. when the Italians or the Irish came over the were processed into this country. the were checked to be healthy and had to prove they had work lined up or family who would support them, not be a drain on society. the did not come here with the expedition that this country owed them anything. they know it was an honor and a privilege, not a right.

My educated guess is that the vast majority of illegals have never once made any attempt to find out how to enter legally and therefore it does not matter in the slightest what the laws are or how many legal ways are available. Illegal entry is based on greed. Illegal aliens are in a sense like water in that they will always take the path of least resistance in regards to immigration.

Absolutely. If the US had a visa program that allowed holders to work, made them pay taxes and entitled them to NO benefits, that would pretty much make the reps happy while making all the illegals legal. Of course the dems want to make sure that the illegals get equal access to all the benefits citizens are entitled to. Little middle ground to be seen.

Nonsense. There are no quotas, people apply for citizenship from all over the world without getting married to an American or working on a visa or green card.

They simply apply and wait.

If they have no serious diseases, no felonies in their background, and if they have even minimal job skills, there is usually no problem at all.

Who are you kidding?

Lori K is correct. We offer tons of visas. People are waiting all over the world to come here legally. America is "land of opportunity" for legal immigrants. America is "land of freebies" for illegals.

Heck No! The only reason they come to this country illegal is to avoid paying taxes, at the same time get free education, free welfare (they are not paying taxes), free social security(not paying socialsecurity), and at the rate they are going they will have the right to vote as an illegal, give them a freaking mile they take over the state of California and Florida. The list goes on and on. WAKE UP!!!!!!
