I've already enlisted, and have been through the Meps medical exam. I've been checked off as my medical status being acceptable. I've already been told I'm leaving for basic training in 2 days, and my AIT has already been reserved for me. I do need a root canal done, and just haven't gotten around to it. Will this disqualify me this late in the proccess?

You have asked a lot of questions here about this root canal. We don't know for sure, all we can tell is what we experienced. I would think that, once you get to reception, you should go to sick call. Tell them exactly what is going on. Also, they will give you a chance to reveal any medical condition you didn't disclose. Go ahead and go to basic. Make the right people at reception aware of the problem. They will decide. Stay motivated. I wouldn't think you would lose your MOS over this, but be prepared for the worst. Things might get pushed back.

No it wont sorry, if you havent had your wisdom teeth removed you will have them removed in AIT I dont recall anyone having teeth removed in BCT you miss to much training you will be reset (start over in BCT).
A root canal isnt that serious as far as not being able to ship , my advice is to wait till you get to AIT because you WILL have your wisdon teeth removed may as well let them do everything at once.
Good Luck.

Nope, It will be done there and you will just spend a day or two running around basic in a little more pain than usual. Time to build some character.

Get it done for free in basic. The first week there is all medical and dental. I had one my 3rd day at boot camp.

NO! The Army has plenty of excellent Dentists! They will fix you right up and you can proceed with BCT & AIT as scheduled!

If you can, be tough and wait it out. You will recieve free dental care when you get to basic. When I was in Marine Corps boot camp, several men had the procedure, and it didn't effect them one bit.

You'll get a full dential checkup in basic and if possible it will be taken care of there. If not at basic then your next command wether it's school or to your unit.

So to ans your question, no.

i think the pain of the root canal before the basic training will make training easier by increasing your tolerance for pain- something you will spend a lot of time with at basic.

good luck!
