a non-believer usually has some kind of experience (bad) to amplify their emotional content. so, i would give the edge to the dog who is cornered.

The unbeliever, simply because the unbeliever has access to a miilion and one arguments from a million and one sources. The Christian ahs ONLY ONE weapon, the Bible and will USE that one weapon consistently, each and every time. The unbeliever will use the source that actually backs up his/her agruments, the Christian must twist and RE-Interpret his bible in order to MAKE the argument FIT the Bible or Vice Versa. Sp ALL the unbeliever has to do is use the available material, unchanged, and for which there is a TON of evidence whereas the Christian is left with just the one weapon which must be constantly used in new and different ways. Too bad the Christian doesn't even KNOW HOW that Bible came to BE the Bible in it's current form. Heck, to them, it seems to even be a sin to examine that line of study.

A believer. When a believer fights he is fighting to keep his life from being a lie. He is fighting to prevent having to face and question his own self, and because he has been told to.
The unbeliever fights (or should) because he thinks it's right, and that no should have to bound by the ridiculous ties of organized religion.
Now I assumed you meant in debates about religion. If you meant in like a fist fight, then really I don't think there's a way to answer that question.

Hands down winner is a believer...
They cut and paste scripture 6 miles long, just to explain the simplest of questions...
They are continually telling us Pagans and Atheist that we are going to burn in Hell...
I don't see any Pagans try to sway a Christian into their beliefs, nor do I see any Atheists try either...

The haters do. It kills me that people not of one religion act as if they know more about it than the people who belong to that religion. Like they are some kind of expert. I say live and let live!!!
