There is no one 'best' class in WoW. (Though I've heard the Warlock is really unbalanced right now.)
As for your three classes, what do you want to do?
Rouges are all about DPS. Take a really fast weapon and some poison and while you might not be able to kill everyone, you can make them hurt. Stealth works on most monsters of appropriate levels, allowing you to get in a decisive first blow.
Hunters are about ranged damage. Unfortunately everyone knows this, and will try to charge you to get into your weak melee range. Fortunately, you have a couple of tricks that could prevent that. In PvE hunters are really easy to handle, thanks to thier agro attracting pets.
Druids can do everything, but someone can always do it better. You need to be really flexible and change strategies on the fly, but if you can druid can be what is enemies are weakest against. That's true in both PvE and PvP making the druid class a hard one to do well.

It mostly depends on what you like.. they are all fairly equal .. and none is really bad.
The best class is the least played.. the druid. The druid has a wide range of abilities, they heal the best, and tank the best depending on spec. Balance.. I do not know much about. I have a feral druid that will go to instances as a tank and outdps most other players. Questing is easy too with druids. If you need to run ... pop out of cat/bear and press rejuv and pop travel form. Many other things too. Hunters.. I have a 69 and it is not nearly as fun or as good as my druid.. hope I helped a bit. Good Luck.

I would stick with your rogue. The downside to playing say a druid is all the gear is always spec dependant.. Rogues just require hack and slash gear and don't have to worry about spec dependant gear. I'd stay away from all hybrid classes just because of that.
Hunters are cool and all. Just not really for endgame. As there is a TON of 70 hunters so it's hard to get into a good guild. These guys make a VERY good farming class tho.

Depends on your personal preferences, though I'm biased in favor of the druids, just due to their flexibility.
Hunters have the advantage of being both powerful and fairly easy. You can level fast and farm very well. Rogues as well, but they've got more down-time between fights for healing, etc.
Druids are stellar for potential, really powerful - but they take a lot more work, and if you're only a mediocre player, it's going to be more obvious when you're playing a druid. That said, the better druids are literally forces of nature. Our biggest downsides are that we're not as powerful in PvP as some other classes. (Not to mention any names, warlocks....)

I would say shaman is the best, they are almost as flexible as druids and in many ways are better. In PVP, shamans are the ones i am most afraid of (as hunter), they do massive damage and have lesser healing wave. Druids (not feral :P) and hunters are easy to kill if you know what to do. In PVE, shamans are wanted for their awesome buffs from totems and their dps/healing.

druids have much more versatility than hunters. it will be a lot easier to get groups as a druid, regarless of your spec too. hunters are easier to level, but druids are funner to play.
